Had right been on their side they would have come to him submissively.

'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī
تفسير : (but if right had been with them) with the people of 'uthman (they would have come unto him) to the prophet (pbuh) (willingly) in haste and obediently.
Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī
تفسير : but if right be on their side they would come to him willingly, hastening compliantly.
