So I ran away from you out of fear. But my Lord has given me wisdom, and made me an apostle.

Tafseer
'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī
تفسير : (then i fled from you when i feared you) when i feared that you would kill me, (and my lord vouchsafed me a command) understanding, knowledge and prophethood (and appointed me (of the number) of those sent (by him)) he made me a messenger to you and to your people.
Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī
تفسير : so i fled from you, as i was afraid of you. then my lord gave me judgement, knowledge, and made me one of the messengers.
