اِنَّاۗ اَخْلَصْنٰہُمْ بِخَالِصَۃٍ ذِكْرَى الدَّارِ۝۴۶ۚ
Inna akhlasnahum bikhalisatin thikra alddari

Tafseer

'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī

تفسير : (lo! we purified them with a pure thought) we selected them, (remembrance of the home (of the hereafter) for the remembrance of allah and the remembrance of the hereafter.

Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī

تفسير : assuredly we purified them with an exclusive [thought], namely, the remembrance of the abode, of the hereafter: in other words to [always] remember it and to work for it (a variant reading [for bi-khālisatin dhikrā’l-dār] has the genitive construction [bi-khālisati dhikrā’l-dār], making this [dhikrā al-dār, ‘remembrance of the abode’] the explicative thereof).

Sahl al-Tustari

تفسير : assuredly we purified them with a pure [thought]: the remembrance of the abode. he said:he purified abraham, ishmael and isaac from the remembrance (dhikr) of this world through a remembrance of him, purely for [his sake] (khāliṣatan), not for the attainment of recompense(jazāʾ). neither did they witness themselves in it [their remembrance]; rather, they remembered him through him and for him. furthermore, the one who remembers god through god (bi’llāh) is not like the one who remembers god through the remembrance of god (bi-dhikri’llāh). but god, glorified and exalted is he, knows best.his words, exalted is he:
