They are the chosen ones, the excellent in Our sight.

Tafseer
'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī
تفسير : (lo! in our sight they are verily of the elect, the excellent) they are selected in the life of the world for prophethood and islam and they are excellent in allah's sight on the day of judgement.
Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī
تفسير : and indeed in our sight they are of the elect, the excellent (akhyār is the plural of khayyir).
