'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī
تفسير : allah will say to them: (this it is that ye are promised) you were promised in the life of the world (for the day of reckoning) on the day of judgement.
Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī
تفسير : ‘this, that is mentioned, is what you are promised, by way of the unseen (there is a shift in the address away from the third [to the second] person]) for the day of reckoning.
