٣٩ - ٱلزُّمَر

39 - Az-Zumar

قُلْ اِنِّىْۗ اُمِرْتُ اَنْ اَعْبُدَ اللہَ مُخْلِصًا لَّہُ الدِّيْنَ۝۱۱ۙ
Qul innee omirtu an aAAbuda Allaha mukhlisan lahu alddeena

Say: "I am commanded to worship God with obedience all-exclusive for Him;

Tafseer

'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī

تفسير : (say) o muhammad, to the people of mecca-this is when they said to him: revert to the religion of our forefathers-: (lo! i am commanded) in the qur'an (to worship allah, making religion pure for him (only)) and make my worship of allah and faith in allah's divine oneness sincere to him.

Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī

تفسير : say: ‘indeed i have been commanded to worship god devoting [my] religion purely to him, [pure] of any idolatry,

Sahl al-Tustari

تفسير : say: ‘indeed i have been commanded to worship god devoting [my] religion purely to him.’he said:sincerity (ikhlāṣ) is responding (ijāba), and whoever has no response has no sincerity. and he said:the astute (akyās) reflected upon sincerity and did not find anything except the following: that everything the servant does, whether done in secret or openly, is for god alone, mighty and majestic is he, and is mingled neither with desire nor with the self.his words:
