'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī
تفسير : (bring back our fathers) revive, o muhammad, our forefathers who died so that we might ask whether what you say is true or false, (if ye speak the truth) that we will be raised again after we die!
Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī
تفسير : bring us then our fathers, alive, if you are being truthful’, about our being resurrected after we have died, that is to say, that we will be given life [again].
