With an interstice between them which they cannot cross.

Tafseer
'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī
تفسير : (there is a barrier) from allah (between them) between the sweet and salty seas. (they encroach not (one upon the other)) nor does any one of them change the taste of the other.
Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī
تفسير : between them there is a barrier, by his power, exalted be he. they do not overstep, neither of the two encroaches upon the other to become mixed with it.
Sahl al-Tustari
تفسير : between them is a barrier [that] they do not overstep.this is divine protection (ʿiṣma) and divinely-bestowed success (tawfīq).his words, exalted is he:
