'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī
تفسير : then they said: (nay, but we are desolate!) we have been denied the benefit of the garden because of our ill intentions.
Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī
تفسير : ‘nay, but we have been deprived!’, of its fruits, by our denying it to the poor folk.
