٦٩ - ٱلْحَاقَّة

69 - Al-Haqqa

وَّالْمَلَكُ عَلٰۗي اَرْجَاۗىِٕہَا۝۰ۭ وَيَحْمِلُ عَرْشَ رَبِّكَ فَوْقَہُمْ يَوْمَىِٕذٍ ثَمٰنِيَۃٌ۝۱۷ۭ
Waalmalaku AAala arjaiha wayahmilu AAarsha rabbika fawqahum yawmaithin thamaniyatun

On its fringes will be angels, eight of them, bearing their Lord's throne aloft.

Tafseer

'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī

تفسير : (and the angels will be on the sides thereof) on its extremities, sides, different directions and parts (and eight) he says: eight different angels, each one of them has four different faces: a human face, a face of an eagle, a face of a lion, and a face of a bull; and it is also said: eight rows; and it is also said: eight parts of the cherubim, who dwell on the seventh heaven (will uphold the throne of their lord that day) the day of judgement, (above them) on their necks.

Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī

تفسير : and the angels will be [all] over its borders, the edges of the heavens, and above them — the angels that have been mentioned — on that day eight, angels or [eight] files of them, will carry the throne of your lord.

Sahl al-Tustari

تفسير : …and on that day eight of them will bear the throne of your lord above them.he said:this means eight regiments of cherubim whose number no one knows except god. the prophet <img border="0" src="images/salatonmassenger.jpg" width="24" height="22"> said, ‘indeed, god has allowed me to speak about one of the angels among the throne bearers. his feet are on the lowest earth, and upon his head rests the throne. between the lobes of his ears and his shoulders is the distance that a bird covers in flight during seven hundred years. this angel says, “glory to god wherever i may be.”’ his words, exalted is he:
