٧٥ - ٱلْقِيَامَة

75 - Al-Qiyama

بَلْ يُرِيْدُ الْاِنْسَانُ لِيَفْجُرَ اَمَامَہٗ۝۵ۚ
Bal yureedu alinsanu liyafjura amamahu

Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him.



'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī

تفسير : (but man) the disbelieving man: 'adiyy ibn rabi'ah (would fain deny what is before him) would fain to indulge in his evil acts and delay his repentance; it is also said this means: he would fain to engage in evil deeds and indecencies in his future days.

Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī

تفسير : nay, but man desires to deny (li-yafjura: the lām is extra, and the subjunctive mood is because of an implied [preceding] an, ‘that’) what lies ahead of him, namely, the day of resurrection, as is indicated by:
