٤٤ - ٱلدُّخَان

44 - Ad-Dukhan

فَدَعَا رَبَّہٗۗ اَنَّ ہٰۗؤُلَاۗءِ قَوْمٌ مُّجْرِمُوْنَ۝۲۲
FadaAAa rabbahu anna haolai qawmun mujrimoona

Ahmed Ali

Then he called to his Lord: "These are a sinful people."

22

فَاَسْرِ بِعِبَادِيْ لَيْلًا اِنَّكُمْ مُّتَّبَعُوْنَ۝۲۳ۙ
Faasri biAAibadee laylan innakum muttabaAAoona

Ahmed Ali

"Journey by night with My devotees," (it was said); "you will certainly be pursued.

23

وَاتْرُكِ الْبَحْرَ رَہْوًا۝۰ۭ اِنَّہُمْ جُنْدٌ مُّغْرَقُوْنَ۝۲۴
Waotruki albahra rahwan innahum jundun mughraqoona

Ahmed Ali

(Cross and) leave the sea undisturbed. The (pursuing) hosts will surely be drowned,"

24

كَمْ تَرَكُوْا مِنْ جَنّٰتٍ وَّعُيُوْنٍ۝۲۵ۙ
Kam tarakoo min jannatin waAAuyoonin

How many gardens and fountains did they leave behind,

25

وَّزُرُوْعٍ وَّمَقَامٍ كَرِيْمٍ۝۲۶ۙ
WazurooAAin wamaqamin kareemin

And fields and stately mansions,

26

وَّنَعْمَۃٍ كَانُوْا فِيْہَا فٰكِہِيْنَ۝۲۷ۙ
WanaAAmatin kanoo feeha fakiheena

Ahmed Ali

And the comfort they enjoyed.

27

كَذٰلِكَ۝۰ۣ وَاَوْرَثْنٰہَا قَوْمًا اٰخَرِيْنَ۝۲۸
Kathalika waawrathnaha qawman akhareena

Ahmed Ali

Thus it was; and We passed them on to another people.

28

فَمَا بَكَتْ عَلَيْہِمُ السَّمَاۗءُ وَالْاَرْضُ وَمَا كَانُوْا مُنْظَرِيْنَ۝۲۹ۧ
Fama bakat AAalayhimu alssamao waalardu wama kanoo munthareena

Neither did the heavens weep for them, nor the earth, nor were they granted respite.

29

وَلَــقَدْ نَجَّيْنَا بَنِيْۗ اِسْرَاۗءِيْلَ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ الْمُہِيْنِ۝۳۰ۙ
Walaqad najjayna banee israeela mina alAAathabi almuheeni

So We saved the children of Israel from degrading suffering

30

مِنْ فِرْعَوْنَ۝۰ۭ اِنَّہٗ كَانَ عَالِيًا مِّنَ الْمُسْرِفِيْنَ۝۳۱
Min firAAawna innahu kana AAaliyan mina almusrifeena

Ahmed Ali

They (had experienced) under the Pharaoh. He was certainly a tyrant, guilty of excess.
