11 - Houd

وَہِىَ تَجْرِيْ بِہِمْ فِيْ مَوْجٍ كَالْجِبَالِ۝۰ۣ وَنَادٰي نُوْحُۨ ابْنَہٗ وَكَانَ فِيْ مَعْزِلٍ يّٰبُنَيَّ ارْكَبْ مَّعَنَا وَلَا تَكُنْ مَّعَ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ۝۴۲
Wahiya tajree bihim fee mawjin kaaljibali wanada noohunu ibnahu wakana fee maAAzilin ya bunayya irkab maAAana wala takun maAAa alkafireena

It sailed on waves like mountains (high), and Noah called to his son who was separated from him: "Embark with us, O my son, and be not one of those who do not believe."

Tafseer

'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī

تفسير : (and it sailed with them) with the people aboard (amid waves) in the water (like mountains) the size of huge mountains, (and noah cried unto) and noah called (his son) canaan (and he was standing aloof) aloof from the ship and it is said: on the side of the mountain: (o my son! come ride with us) be saved with us by means of “there is no god except allah”, (and be not with the disbelievers) following their religion lest you drown.

Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī

تفسير : and it sailed with them amid waves like mountains, in terms of their height and size, and noah called out to his son, canaan, who was standing away, from the ship, ‘o my son, embark with us and do not be with the disbelievers!’
