11 - Houd

فَلَمَّا ذَہَبَ عَنْ اِبْرٰہِيْمَ الرَّوْعُ وَجَاۗءَتْہُ الْبُشْرٰي يُجَادِلُنَا فِيْ قَوْمِ لُوْطٍ۝۷۴ۭ
Falamma thahaba AAan ibraheema alrrawAAu wajaathu albushra yujadiluna fee qawmi lootin

When Abraham's fear was dispelled, and the good news had come to him, he pleaded for the people of Lot with Us.

Tafseer

'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī

تفسير : (and when the awe) fear (departed from abraham, and the glad news) that he will have a son (reached him, he pleaded with us) he argued with us (on behalf of the folk of lot) about the destruction of the people of lot.

Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī

تفسير : and when the awe, the fear, departed from abraham and the good tiding came to him, of a child, he began to plead with us, pleading with our messengers, concerning the, matter of the, people of lot.
