Yet We have not sent you but to give good tidings and to warn.

'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī
تفسير : (and we have sent thee) o muhammad to the people of mecca (only as a bearer of good tidings) paradise (and a warner) from the fire.
Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī
تفسير : and we have not sent you except as a bearer of good tidings, of paradise, and as a warner, a threatener [of people] with the [chastisement of the] fire.
