٢٧ - ٱلنَّمْل

27 - An-Naml

اِلَّا مَنْ ظَلَمَ ثُمَّ بَدَّلَ حُسْـنًۢا بَعْدَ سُوْۗءٍ فَاِنِّىْ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ۝۱۱
Illa man thalama thumma baddala husnan baAAda sooin fainnee ghafoorun raheemun

Except those who do some wrong but afterwards do good to make up for the wrong. And I am forgiving and merciful.

Tafseer

'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī

تفسير : save him who hath done wrong and afterward hath changed evil for good. and lo! i am forgiving) i forgive the one who repents, (merciful) i show mercy towards he who dies in a state of repentance.

Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī

تفسير : except him who has wronged, his soul, but then changed [his wrong] for good — he [then] performs [good deeds] — after [having done] evil, in other words, [he has] repented, then truly i am forgiving, merciful, i will accept his repentance and forgive him.

Sahl al-Tustari

تفسير : …surely in my presence the messengers do not fear, ! except he who has wronged [others]…he said:there was never among the prophets and messengers an oppressor. however, this address to them is actually indirectly referring to their people, just as when he said to the prophet <img border="0" src="images/salatonmassenger.jpg" width="24" height="22">: if you associate others [with god], your work shall surely fail [39:65], those who are intended are his nation (umma), for when they hear this admonition being addressed to the prophet <img border="0" src="images/salatonmassenger.jpg" width="24" height="22">, they will be even more cautious [concerning themselves].his words, exalted is he:
