٢٩ - ٱلْعَنْكَبُوت

29 - Al-Ankabut

يٰعِبَادِيَ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْۗا اِنَّ اَرْضِيْ وَاسِعَۃٌ فَاِيَّايَ فَاعْبُدُوْنِ۝۵۶
Ya AAibadiya allatheena amanoo inna ardee wasiAAatun faiyyaya faoAAbudooni

O My creatures who believe, surely My earth has plenty of scope and so worship only Me.

Tafseer

'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī

تفسير : (o my bondmen who believe) in muhammad (pbuh) and in the qur'an! i.e. abu bakr, 'umar, 'uthman, 'ali and their fellow believers (lo! my earth) the land of medina (is spacious) is safe, therefore travel to it. (therefore serve me only) obey me only.

Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī

تفسير : o my servants who believe! my earth is indeed vast. so worship [only] me, in whichever land worship is possible, by emigrating to it from a land in which worship is not possible — this [verse] was revealed regarding the oppressed muslims [living] in mecca, who were constrained to manifest [their] islam in it.

Sahl al-Tustari

تفسير : …my earth is [indeed] vast, so worship me and me [alone].he said:this means: if transgressions and innovations are the practice in a particular land, then leave it for a land of obedient servants. indeed the prophet <img border="0" src="images/salatonmassenger.jpg" width="24" height="22"> said: ‘he who flees for [the sake of] his religion at a time when the community is in a state of corruption, will receive the reward of seventy martyrs in the cause of god, mighty and majestic is he.’his words, exalted is he:
