٣١ - لُقْمَان

31 - Luqman

اَلَمْ تَرَ اَنَّ الْفُلْكَ تَجْرِيْ فِي الْبَحْرِ بِنِعْمَتِ اللہِ لِيُرِيَكُمْ مِّنْ اٰيٰتِہٖ۝۰ۭ اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُوْرٍ۝۳۱
Alam tara anna alfulka tajree fee albahri biniAAmati Allahi liyuriyakum min ayatihi inna fee thalika laayatin likulli sabbarin shakoorin

Ahmed Ali

Do you not see that the ships sail in the ocean by the grace of God, that He may show you some of His glories. Verily there are signs in this for those who are constant and give thanks.

Tafseer

'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī

تفسير : (hast thou not seen) have you not been informed (how the ships glide on the sea by allah's grace, that he may show you of his wonders? lo! therein) in that which i have mentioned (indeed are portents) signs and lessons (for every steadfast) in obedience, (grateful (heart)) for allah's bounties.

Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī

تفسير : have you not seen that the ships run upon the sea by the grace of god, that he may show you, o you who are being addressed in this [statement], some of his signs? surely in that there are signs, lessons, for every [servant who is] steadfast, [in abstaining] from acts of disobedience to god, grateful, for his grace.
