٤٧ - مُحَمَّد

47 - Muhammad

وَالَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا فَتَعْسًا لَّہُمْ وَاَضَلَّ اَعْمَالَہُمْ۝۸
Waallatheena kafaroo fataAAsan lahum waadalla aAAmalahum

As for the unbelievers, they will suffer misfortunes, and their deeds will be rendered ineffective.

Tafseer

'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī

تفسير : (and those who disbelieve) in muhammad (pbuh) and the qur'an: these are those who fed the army of disbelievers at badr, (perdition) and abasement (is for them, and he will make their actions vain) he will thwart their good deeds and spending at badr.

Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī

تفسير : and as for those who disbelieve, from among the people of mecca (wa’lladhīna kafarū is the subject, the predicate of which is [an implicit] ta‘isū, ‘they shall be wretched’, as indicated [by what follows]) wretchedness shall be their lot, that is, destruction and defeat from god. and he will make their works go to waste (wa-adalla a‘mālahum is a supplement to [the implied] ta‘isū, ‘they shall be wretched’).
