50 - Qaf

وَالْاَرْضَ مَدَدْنٰہَا وَاَلْقَيْنَا فِيْہَا رَوَاسِيَ وَاَنْۢبَتْنَا فِيْہَا مِنْ كُلِّ زَوْجٍؚبَہِيْجٍ۝۷ۙ
Waalarda madadnaha waalqayna feeha rawasiya waanbatna feeha min kulli zawjin baheejin

We stretched the earth and placed upon it firm stabilisers and We made every kind of splendid thing to grow upon it

Tafseer

'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī

تفسير : (and the earth have we spread out) over water, (and have flung firm hills) firm mountains so that it does not sway (therein) on the earth, (and have caused of every lovely kind to grow thereon) and have caused of every kind of seemly appearance to grow thereon,

Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī

تفسير : and the earth (wa’l-arda, is a supplement to the position of the words ilā l-samā’i, ‘at the heaven’), how, we have spread it out, [how] we have rolled it across the face of the water, and cast in it firm mountains, to fix it in place, and caused every delightful kind, [every delightful] specimen, causing delight by its [very] beauty, to grow in it,
