٥٢ - ٱلطُّور

52 - At-Tour

وَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ فَاِنَّكَ بِاَعْيُنِنَا وَسَبِّــحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ حِيْنَ تَـقُوْمُ۝۴۸ۙ
Waisbir lihukmi rabbika fainnaka biaAAyunina wasabbih bihamdi rabbika heena taqoomu

Await the judgement of your Lord, for you are always before Our eyes, and glorify your Lord with praises when you rise,

Tafseer

'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī

تفسير : (so wait patiently (o muhammad) for your lord's decree) upon conveying the message of your lord; and it is said this means: be content with the decree of your lord regarding that which befalls you in the course of obeying your lord, (for surely thou art in our sight; and hymn the praise of thy lord) pray by the command of your lord (when thou uprisest) from your bed for the fajr prayer.

Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī

تفسير : and submit patiently to the judgement of your lord, that they be reprieved, and do not be grieved, for surely you fare before our eyes, [you are] in our sight, we see you and preserve you. and glorify, continuously, with praise of your lord, that is to say, say subhāna’llāhi wa bi-hamdihi, ‘glory, and praise, be to god!’, when you rise, from your sleeping-place or your sitting-place,

تفسير : and submit patiently to the judgement of your lord; you are under our watchful eye…that is, ‘whatever pertaining to action (fiʿl) and power (qudra) appears in your character, [know that] it is he who has taken your whole being into his care (riʿāya), protection (kilāya), good pleasure (riḍā) and love (maḥabba), and guarded you from the enemy.’his words, exalted is he: …celebrate the praise of your lord when you rise,he said:this means: ‘perform the prescribed prayer with sincerity for your lord when you rise for it.’his words, exalted is he:
