٥٤ - ٱلْقَمَر

54 - Al-Qamar

وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْاٰنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَہَلْ مِنْ مُّدَّكِرٍ۝۱۷
Walaqad yassarna alqurana lilththikri fahal min muddakirin

Easy have We made the Qur'an to understand: So is there any one who will be warned?

Tafseer

'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī

تفسير : (and in truth we have made the qur'an easy to remember) recite and write; it is also said that this means: we have made the recitation of the qur'an easy; (but is there any that remembereth) is there any that seeks knowledge and hence be helped to acquire it?

Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī

تفسير : and verily we have made the qur’ān easy to remember, we have facilitated its memorisation and disposed it to serve as a [source of] remembrance. so is there anyone who remember?, [anyone who] will be admonished by it and memorise it? (the interrogative here is intended as an imperative: in other words, memorise it and be admonished by it; none of god’s scriptures is memorised by heart other than it [the qur’ān]).

Sahl al-Tustari

تفسير : and verily we have made the qurʾān easy to remember. is there anyone who will remember? that is, ‘we have made the qurʾān easy to remember. if it were not so, tongues would not have been able to enunciate it. so will anyone take heed of this blessing (niʿma)?’his words, exalted is he:
