56 - Al-Waqi'a

جَزَاۗءًۢ بِمَا كَانُوْا يَعْمَلُوْنَ۝۲۴
Jazaan bima kanoo yaAAmaloona

Tafseer

'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī

تفسير : (reward) this is a reward for the inhabitants of the garden (for what they used do) and say of good things in the life of the world.

Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī

تفسير : a reward (jazā’an is an object denoting reason or a verbal noun, with the operator being an implicit [verb], in other words, ‘we have appointed for them the mentioned as a reward’ or ‘we have rewarded them [this]’) for what they used to do.
