Tafseer

'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī

تفسير : canst thou (o muhammad) see any remnant of them?) he says: every single one of them was destroyed by the wind.

Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī

تفسير : so do you see any remnant of them? (min bāqiyatin: this is either the adjectival qualification of an implicit nafs, ‘soul’, or the [final suffixed] tā’ is for hyperbole, in other words [understand it as fa-hal tarā lahum] min bāqin, ‘any one remaining?’ no!).
