And when they saw them, they said: "They have indeed gone astray."

'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī
تفسير : (and when they saw them) and when they saw the companions of the prophet (pbuh) (they said) i.e. the disbelievers said: (lo! these) the companions of the prophet (pbuh) (have gone astray) from true guidance.
Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī
تفسير : and when they see them, that is, the believers, they say, ‘lo! these [men] are astray!’, on account of their belief in muhammad (s).
