Tokyo Camii Mosque is a very old mosque in the city and was established in the year 1938. Initially, the mosque was the Tokyo Islamic School, where Muslims who escaped the Russian Revolution and migrated to Tokyo used to pray. It was demolished in 1986 due to the poor structure of the building, and later, in the year 2000, it was constructed again. Those who migrated from Russia to save their life were mostly Turks who settled here and made Tokyo their new home. The new mosque was made under the Turkish government and became a mosque and Turkish cultural center in the heart of Tokyo.
The mosque is now known as Tokyo Camii and Diyanet Turkish Culture Center. It was built in the Ottoman architectural style and now serves as a mosque where the Muslims living around it offer 5 times daily prayers. It's also a Turkish Cultural Center where Turkish Muslims pray and celebrate their religious festivals and gatherings. It also plays a role as a religious educational institution where you can learn Islamic studies, Quran recitation, Quran memorization, Hadith, and so much more.
