Hiroshima is a city in Japan situated in the Chugoku region, with a total population of around 1.2 million people. Hiroshima was the first city to be destroyed by an atomic bomb by the USA during World War II on August 6, 1945. Popular Mosques in Hiroshima

Mosques hold the utmost importance in the lives of Muslims. They are a place of worship and reflection. Allah has made it mandatory for Muslims to offer salat (prayer) five times a day. Moreover, offering salat in jama'ah (congregation) is better than offering salat in solitude. Therefore, mosques offer a safe and clean place for Muslims to gather and offer their daily salat in congregation, according to sunnah.

The first Islamic school was established in Masjid-e-Nabawi by the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). Muslims gathered in the mosque before and after prayers to ask Questions, and the Prophet would answer. He taught Muslims the way to live their life according to Islam. Thus, as proven by sunnah, mosques are also places of learning and social gatherings. Modern-day mosques follow this sunnah and often offer education and learning opportunities in the form of Quran school, Arabic classes, fiqh, hadith, sunnah, and tafseer classes etc.,

Mosques in Hiroshima are the result of endeavours by the local Muslim population to uphold their Islamic value and transfer them to the next generation. If you are a Muslim in Hiroshima looking for a nearby mosque to offer your daily Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha prayers, you have come to the right place. Here, we will provide a list of popular mosques in the city you're your convenience.

Kasumi Mushallah Hiroshima City

Kasumi Musallah is a small prayer area located near Hiroshima University's Kasumi Campus. Previously, this small mosque was located at the University of Hiroshima's premises. However, it was relocated outside the campus as the campus location restricted use to university personnel only. The new location is a small apartment on the third floor of an apartment building near the University of Hiroshima's Kasumi Campus.

This small masjid is primarily maintained by the Hiroshima Islamic Cultural Center. However, responsibilities are fulfilled by Muslim volunteers. One example is that the mosque does not have a permanent Imam, instead, the members of the community take turns to lead prayers, deliver a sermon on Jummah (Friday), and lead the Friday prayers. This special arrangement allows the Muslim community in Hiroshima city to offer their obligatory five times prayer in congregation. Although it is a small mosque, it still has a restroom and wudu area available for the worshippers. The apartment in which the mosque is located has an adjoining washroom.
