٥١ - ٱلذَّارِيَات

51 - Adh-Dhariyat

قَالَ فَمَاخَطْبُكُمْ اَيُّہَا الْمُرْسَلُوْنَ۝۳۱
Qala fama khatbukum ayyuha almursaloona

Ahmed Ali

He said: "What is then your business, O messengers?"

31

قَالُوْۗا اِنَّاۗ اُرْسِلْنَاۗ اِلٰى قَوْمٍ مُّجْـرِمِيْنَ۝۳۲ۙ
Qaloo inna orsilna ila qawmin mujrimeena

Ahmed Ali

They said: "We have been sent to a wicked people

32

لِنُرْسِلَ عَلَيْہِمْ حِجَارَۃً مِّنْ طِيْنٍ۝۳۳ۙ
Linursila AAalayhim hijaratan min teenin

Ahmed Ali

So as to let loose clods of clay on them

33

مُّسَوَّمَۃً عِنْدَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُسْرِفِيْنَ۝۳۴
Musawwamatan AAinda rabbika lilmusrifeena

Ahmed Ali

Marked by your Lord for those who waste their substance."

34

فَاَخْرَجْنَا مَنْ كَانَ فِيْہَا مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ۝۳۵ۚ
Faakhrajna man kana feeha mina almumineena

Ahmed Ali

So We evacuated everyone who was a believer there,

35

فَمَا وَجَدْنَا فِيْہَا غَيْرَ بَيْتٍ مِّنَ الْمُسْلِمِيْنَ۝۳۶ۚ
Fama wajadna feeha ghayra baytin mina almuslimeena

Ahmed Ali

But did not find more than a single family of believers.

36

وَتَرَكْنَا فِيْہَاۗ اٰيَۃً لِّلَّذِيْنَ يَخَافُوْنَ الْعَذَابَ الْاَلِيْمَ۝۳۷ۭ
Watarakna feeha ayatan lillatheena yakhafoona alAAathaba alaleema

We left a sign in this for those who fear the grievous punishment,

37

وَفِيْ مُوْسٰۗى اِذْ اَرْسَلْنٰہُ اِلٰى فِرْعَوْنَ بِسُلْطٰنٍ مُّبِيْنٍ۝۳۸
Wafee moosa ith arsalnahu ila firAAawna bisultanin mubeenin

Ahmed Ali

As (there was) in Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority.

38

فَتَوَلّٰى بِرُكْنِہٖ وَقَالَ سٰحِرٌ اَوْ مَجْنُوْنٌ۝۳۹
Fatawalla biruknihi waqala sahirun aw majnoonun

Ahmed Ali

But he turned to his counsellors, and said: "He is a magician or lunatic."

39

فَاَخَذْنٰہُ وَجُنُوْدَہٗ فَنَبَذْنٰہُمْ فِي الْيَمِّ وَہُوَمُلِيْمٌ۝۴۰ۭ
Faakhathnahu wajunoodahu fanabathnahum fee alyammi wahuwa muleemun

Ahmed Ali

So We seized him and his armies, and threw them into the sea, for he was worthy of blame.
