٨ - ٱلْأَنْفَال

8 - Al-Anfal

يٰۗاَيُّھَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْۗا اِذَا لَقِيْتُمْ فِئَۃً فَاثْبُتُوْا وَاذْكُرُوا اللہَ كَثِيْرًا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُوْنَ۝۴۵ۚ
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo itha laqeetum fiatan faothbutoo waothkuroo Allaha katheeran laAAallakum tuflihoona

Ahmed Ali

O believers, when you meet an army, stand firm, and think of God a great deal that you may be blessed with success.

45

وَاَطِيْعُوا اللہَ وَرَسُوْلَہٗ وَلَا تَنَازَعُوْا فَتَفْشَلُوْا وَتَذْہَبَ رِيْحُكُمْ وَاصْبِرُوْا۝۰ۭ اِنَّ اللہَ مَعَ الصّٰبِرِيْنَ۝۴۶ۚ
WaateeAAoo Allaha warasoolahu wala tanazaAAoo fatafshaloo watathhaba reehukum waisbiroo inna Allaha maAAa alssabireena

Ahmed Ali

Obey God and His Apostle, and do not disagree among yourselves or you will be unmanned and lose courage. Persevere, for God is with those who endure.

46

وَلَا تَكُوْنُوْا كَالَّذِيْنَ خَرَجُوْا مِنْ دِيَارِہِمْ بَطَرًا وَّرِئَاۗءَ النَّاسِ وَ يَصُدُّوْنَ عَنْ سَبِيْلِ اؘ۝۰ۭ وَاللہُ بِمَا يَعْمَلُوْنَ مُحِيْطٌ۝۴۷
Wala takoonoo kaallatheena kharajoo min diyarihim bataran wariaa alnnasi wayasuddoona AAan sabeeli Allahi waAllahu bima yaAAmaloona muheetun

Ahmed Ali

Do not be like those who went out of their homes full of their own importance, ostentatiously, trying to hinder others from the way of God. But God encompasses all they do.

47

وَاِذْ زَيَّنَ لَہُمُ الشَّيْطٰنُ اَعْمَالَہُمْ وَقَالَ لَا غَالِبَ لَكُمُ الْيَوْمَ مِنَ النَّاسِ وَاِنِّىْ جَارٌ لَّكُمْ۝۰ۚ فَلَمَّا تَرَاۗءَتِ الْفِئَتٰنِ نَكَصَ عَلٰي عَقِبَيْہِ وَقَالَ اِنِّىْ بَرِيْۗءٌ مِّنْكُمْ اِنِّىْۗ اَرٰي مَا لَا تَرَوْنَ اِنِّىْۗ اَخَافُ اللہَ۝۰ۭ وَاللہُ شَدِيْدُ الْعِقَابِ۝۴۸ۧ
Waith zayyana lahumu alshshaytanu aAAmalahum waqala la ghaliba lakumu alyawma mina alnnasi wainnee jarun lakum falamma taraati alfiatani nakasa AAala AAaqibayhi waqala innee bareeon minkum innee ara ma la tarawna innee akhafu Allaha waAllahu shadeedu alAAiqabi

Satan made their deeds look alluring to them, and said: "None will prevail over you this day, for I shall be near at hand." Yet when the two armies appeared face to face, he turned back and fled, saying: "I am not with you, for I can see what you cannot perceive. I fear God, for His punishment is severe."
