٤٣ - ٱلْزُّخْرُف

43 - Az-Zukhruf

وَمَنْ يَّعْشُ عَنْ ذِكْرِ الرَّحْمٰنِ نُـقَيِّضْ لَہٗ شَيْطٰنًا فَہُوَلَہٗ قَرِيْنٌ۝۳۶
Waman yaAAshu AAan thikri alrrahmani nuqayyid lahu shaytanan fahuwa lahu qareenun

We shall attach to him who goes blind to the remembrance of Ar-Rahman a devil as companion, --

Tafseer

'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī

تفسير : (and he whose sight is dim to the remembrance of the beneficent) and he who is blind to the declaration of the divine oneness and scripture of the beneficent, (we assign unto him a devil who becometh his comrade) in the life of the world and in the fire;

Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī

تفسير : and whoever withdraws from, [whoever] is oblivious, to the remembrance of the compassionate one, namely, the qur’ān, we assign, we produce, for him a devil and he becomes his companion, never leaving his side.

Sahl al-Tustari

تفسير : we assign a devil as a companion for whoever turns away from the remembrance of the compassionate one.he said:god has decreed that any servant who turns away from his remembrance, which is to say that he sees in his heart anything besides him, and acquiesces in that thing, will not do so without god putting a devil (shayṭān) in power over him, who will divert him from the path of truth and subject him to temptation. his words, exalted is he:
