Tafseer

'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī

تفسير : (then breath of life) then rest for them in the grave; and it is also said that this means: then there is mercy for them, (and plenty) when they come out of the grave; and it is also said this means: and provision, (and a garden of delight) on the day of judgement whose delight is perpetual.

Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī

تفسير : then repose, that is, there will be for him relief, and a goodly provision, and a garden of bliss (does this response belong to the ammā, ‘thus’, or to in, ‘if’, or to both? different opinions [are given regarding this]).

Sahl al-Tustari

تفسير : then repose and a goodly provision and a garden of bliss,in paradise. abū al-ʿĀliya said regarding this verse, ‘not one of these men would leave this world until he had been brought a sprig from the fragrant herb (rayḥān) of paradise, and given a whiff of it, then he would die, his spirit flowing into it [paradise].’
