٩ - ٱلتَّوْبَة

9 - At-Tawba

اِنَّمَا الصَّدَقٰتُ لِلْفُقَرَاۗءِ وَالْمَسٰكِيْنِ وَالْعٰمِلِيْنَ عَلَيْہَا وَالْمُؤَلَّفَۃِ قُلُوْبُہُمْ وَفِي الرِّقَابِ وَالْغٰرِمِيْنَ وَفِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللہِ وَابْنِ السَّبِيْلِ۝۰ۭ فَرِيْضَۃً مِّنَ اؘ۝۰ۭ وَاللہُ عَلِيْمٌ حَكِيْمٌ۝۶۰
Innama alssadaqatu lilfuqarai waalmasakeeni waalAAamileena AAalayha waalmuallafati quloobuhum wafee alrriqabi waalgharimeena wafee sabeeli Allahi waibni alssabeeli fareedatan mina Allahi waAllahu AAaleemun hakeemun

Charities are meant for the indigent and needy, and those who collect and distribute them, and those whom you wish to win over, and for redeeming slaves (and captives) and those who are burdened with debt, and in the cause of God, and the wayfarers: So does God ordain. God is all-knowing and all-wise.

60

وَمِنْہُمُ الَّذِيْنَ يُؤْذُوْنَ النَّبِيَّ وَيَقُوْلُوْنَ ہُوَاُذُنٌ۝۰ۭ قُلْ اُذُنُ خَيْرٍ لَّكُمْ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللہِ وَيُؤْمِنُ لِلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَرَحْمَۃٌ لِّلَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا مِنْكُمْ۝۰ۭ وَالَّذِيْنَ يُؤْذُوْنَ رَسُوْلَ اللہِ لَہُمْ عَذَابٌ اَلِيْمٌ۝۶۱
Waminhumu allatheena yuthoona alnnabiyya wayaqooloona huwa othunun qul othunu khayrin lakum yuminu biAllahi wayuminu lilmumineena warahmatun lillatheena amanoo minkum waallatheena yuthoona rasoola Allahi lahum AAathabun aleemun

There are some among them who talk ill of the Prophet by saying: "He listens to everyone." Tell them: "He listens for your good, and trusts in God and trusts the faithful, and he is a blessing for those who believe. For those who offend the Apostle of God there is painful punishment."

61

يَحْلِفُوْنَ بِاللہِ لَكُمْ لِيُرْضُوْكُمْ۝۰ۚ وَاللہُ وَرَسُوْلُہٗۗ اَحَقُّ اَنْ يُّرْضُوْہُ اِنْ كَانُوْا مُؤْمِنِيْنَ۝۶۲
Yahlifoona biAllahi lakum liyurdookum waAllahu warasooluhu ahaqqu an yurdoohu in kanoo mumineena

Ahmed Ali

They swear by God to please you; but if they are believers it would have been worthier to have pleased God and His Apostle.

62

اَلَمْ يَعْلَمُوْۗا اَنَّہٗ مَنْ يُّحَادِدِ اللہَ وَرَسُوْلَہٗ فَاَنَّ لَہٗ نَارَ جَہَنَّمَ خَالِدًا فِيْہَا۝۰ۭ ذٰلِكَ الْخِزْيُ الْعَظِيْمُ۝۶۳
Alam yaAAlamoo annahu man yuhadidi Allaha warasoolahu faanna lahu nara jahannama khalidan feeha thalika alkhizyu alAAatheemu

Ahmed Ali

Have they not realised that anyone who opposes God and His Prophet, will abide in Hell for ever? And that is the worst disgrace.

63

يَحْذَرُ الْمُنٰفِقُوْنَ اَنْ تُنَزَّلَ عَلَيْہِمْ سُوْرَۃٌ تُنَبِّئُہُمْ بِمَا فِيْ قُلُوْبِہِمْ۝۰ۭ قُلِ اسْتَہْزِءُوْا۝۰ۚ اِنَّ اللہَ مُخْرِجٌ مَّا تَحْذَرُوْنَ۝۶۴
Yahtharu almunafiqoona an tunazzala AAalayhim sooratun tunabbiohum bima fee quloobihim quli istahzioo inna Allaha mukhrijun ma tahtharoona

The hypocrites fear lest a Surah is revealed concerning them, exposing what is in their hearts. Say to them: "Mock as much as you like; God will surely expose what you dread."

64

وَلَىِٕنْ سَاَلْتَہُمْ لَيَقُوْلُنَّ اِنَّمَا كُنَّا نَخُوْضُ وَنَلْعَبُ۝۰ۭ قُلْ اَبِاللہِ وَاٰيٰتِہٖ وَرَسُوْلِہٖ كُنْتُمْ تَسْتَہْزِءُوْنَ۝۶۵
Walain saaltahum layaqoolunna innama kunna nakhoodu wanalAAabu qul abiAllahi waayatihi warasoolihi kuntum tastahzioona

But if you ask them, they will say: "We were only gossiping and jesting." You ask them: "Were you jesting with God, His revelations and His messengers?"

65

لَا تَعْتَذِرُوْا قَدْ كَفَرْتُمْ بَعْدَ اِيْمَانِكُمْ۝۰ۭ اِنْ نَّعْفُ عَنْ طَاۗىِٕفَۃٍ مِّنْكُمْ نُعَذِّبْ طَاۗىِٕفَۃًۢ بِاَنَّہُمْ كَانُوْا مُجْرِمِيْنَ۝۶۶ۧ
La taAAtathiroo qad kafartum baAAda eemanikum in naAAfu AAan taifatin minkum nuAAaththib taifatan biannahum kanoo mujrimeena

Ahmed Ali

Do not make excuses: You turned unbelievers after having come to faith. If We pardon a section of you (for being frivolous), We shall punish the other for being guilty (of deliberate sin).
