٢٨ - ٱلْقَصَص

28 - Al-Qasas

اَفَمَنْ وَّعَدْنٰہُ وَعْدًا حَسَـنًا فَہُوَ لَاقِيْہِ كَمَنْ مَّتَّعْنٰہُ مَتَاعَ الْحَيٰوۃِ الدُّنْيَا ثُمَّ ہُوَ يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَۃِ مِنَ الْمُحْضَرِيْنَ۝۶۱
Afaman waAAadnahu waAAdan hasanan fahuwa laqeehi kaman mattaAAnahu mataAAa alhayati alddunya thumma huwa yawma alqiyamati mina almuhdareena

Ahmed Ali

Can one who was given a better promise, which he will find come true, be like him who was given a little enjoyment of this life, but who will afterwards be brought (to judgement) on the Day of Resurrection?

61

وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيْہِمْ فَيَقُوْلُ اَيْنَ شُرَكَاۗءِيَ الَّذِيْنَ كُنْتُمْ تَزْعُمُوْنَ۝۶۲
Wayawma yunadeehim fayaqoolu ayna shurakaiya allatheena kuntum tazAAumoona

Ahmed Ali

That day God will call them and ask: "Where are they you imagined were My compeers?"

62

قَالَ الَّذِيْنَ حَقَّ عَلَيْہِمُ الْقَوْلُ رَبَّنَا ہٰۗؤُلَاۗءِ الَّذِيْنَ اَغْوَيْنَا۝۰ۚ اَغْوَيْنٰہُمْ كَـمَا غَوَيْنَا۝۰ۚ تَبَرَّاْنَاۗ اِلَيْكَ۝۰ۡمَا كَانُوْۗا اِيَّانَا يَعْبُدُوْنَ۝۶۳
Qala allatheena haqqa AAalayhimu alqawlu rabbana haolai allatheena aghwayna aghwaynahum kama ghawayna tabarrana ilayka ma kanoo iyyana yaAAbudoona

Ahmed Ali

Those against whom the sentence is justified will say: "O Lord, these are those we had led astray as we had ourselves gone astray. We clear ourselves before You: They never worshipped us."

63

وَقِيْلَ ادْعُوْا شُرَكَاۗءَكُمْ فَدَعَوْہُمْ فَلَمْ يَسْتَجِيْبُوْا لَہُمْ وَرَاَوُا الْعَذَابَ۝۰ۚ لَوْ اَنَّہُمْ كَانُوْا يَہْتَدُوْنَ۝۶۴
Waqeela odAAoo shurakaakum fadaAAawhum falam yastajeeboo lahum waraawoo alAAathaba law annahum kanoo yahtadoona

Ahmed Ali

(The sinners) will be told: "Invoke your partners." They will call on them, but they will not answer; and they will see the torment (and wish) if only they had come to guidance.

64

وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيْہِمْ فَيَقُوْلُ مَاذَاۗ اَجَبْتُمُ الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ۝۶۵
Wayawma yunadeehim fayaqoolu matha ajabtumu almursaleena

Ahmed Ali

(God) will ask them on that day: "What answer did you give the apostles?"

65

فَعَمِيَتْ عَلَيْہِمُ الْاَنْۢبَاۗءُ يَوْمَىِٕذٍ فَہُمْ لَا يَتَسَاۗءَلُوْنَ۝۶۶
FaAAamiyat AAalayhimu alanbao yawmaithin fahum la yatasaaloona

Ahmed Ali

Then all news will be blacked out for them, and they will not even ask one another.

66

فَاَمَّا مَنْ تَابَ وَاٰمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَعَسٰۗي اَنْ يَّكُوْنَ مِنَ الْمُفْلِحِيْنَ۝۶۷
Faamma man taba waamana waAAamila salihan faAAasa an yakoona mina almufliheena

Ahmed Ali

But he who repents and believes and does good things may well be among the successful.

67

وَرَبُّكَ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَاۗءُ وَيَخْتَارُ۝۰ۭ مَا كَانَ لَہُمُ الْخِيَرَۃُ۝۰ۭ سُبْحٰنَ اللہِ وَتَعٰلٰى عَمَّا يُشْرِكُوْنَ۝۶۸
Warabbuka yakhluqu ma yashao wayakhtaru ma kana lahumu alkhiyaratu subhana Allahi wataAAala AAamma yushrikoona

Ahmed Ali

Your Lord creates what He wills and chooses. The good is not for them to choose. Too holy and high is God for what they associate with Him.

68

وَرَبُّكَ يَعْلَمُ مَا تُكِنُّ صُدُوْرُہُمْ وَمَا يُعْلِنُوْنَ۝۶۹
Warabbuka yaAAlamu ma tukinnu sudooruhum wama yuAAlinoona

Ahmed Ali

Your Lord well knows what they hide in their breasts and what they disclose.

69

وَہُوَاللہُ لَاۗ اِلٰہَ اِلَّا ہُوَ۝۰ۭ لَہُ الْحَمْدُ فِي الْاُوْلٰى وَالْاٰخِرَۃِ۝۰ۡوَلَہُ الْحُكْمُ وَاِلَيْہِ تُرْجَعُوْنَ۝۷۰
Wahuwa Allahu la ilaha illa huwa lahu alhamdu fee aloola waalakhirati walahu alhukmu wailayhi turjaAAoona

Ahmed Ali

He is God. There is no god but He. His alone is praise first and last, and His the judgement, and to Him will you be brought back in the end.

70
