Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) emphasized the importance of praying five daily prayers, including the Jummah noon prayer, with congregation several times in his life. It was narrated that Ma'din bin Abi Talhah Al-Ya'muri said: "Abu Ad-Darda (رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهُ) said to me: 'Where do you live?' I said: 'In a town near Hims.' Abu Ad-Darda (رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهُ) said that he heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say, “There are no three people in a town or encampment among whom prayer is not established, but the Shaitan takes control of them. Therefore, stick to the congregation, for the wolf eats the sheep that strays off on its own.” (One of the narrators (Sa'ib) said: The congregation means the congregational prayer. (Grade: Sahih (Darussalam) Sunan an-Nasa'i 847)
He (ﷺ) also advised his companions of the benefits of striving to pray with the congregation. AbuHurayrah (رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهُ) narrated: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Whoever performs ablution, and performs his ablution perfectly, and then goes to the mosque and finds that the people had finished the prayer (in congregation), Allah will give him a reward like one who prayed in congregation and attended it; the reward of those who prayed in congregation will not be curtailed.” (Grade: Sahih (Al-Albani) Sunan Abi Dawud 564)
The prayer performed with the congregation is twenty-five or twenty-seven times better than a solitary prayer. Abu Huraira (رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهُ) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Prayer said in a congregation is twenty-five degrees more excellent than prayer said by a single person. (Sahih Muslim 649a) In another narration by Ibn Umar (رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهُ) who reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Prayer said in a congregation is twenty-seven degrees more excellent than prayer said by a single person. (Sahih Muslim 650a) As Muslims, we must strive to pray our obligatory salah with the congregation even while traveling. We hope this page on mosques in Hefei will help you catch your prayers with the congregation while traveling or living in the city.
