38 - Sad

وَعِنْدَہُمْ قٰصِرٰتُ الطَّرْفِ اَتْرَابٌ۝۵۲
WaAAindahum qasiratu alttarfi atrabun

English

Ahmed Ali

With companions of modest look, the same in age, by their side.

52

ھٰذَا مَا تُوْعَدُوْنَ لِيَوْمِ الْحِسَابِ۝۵۳
Hatha ma tooAAadoona liyawmi alhisabi

English

Ahmed Ali

This is what is promised you for the Day of Reckoning.

53

اِنَّ ھٰذَا لَرِزْقُنَا مَا لَہٗ مِنْ نَّفَادٍ۝۵۴ۚۖ
Inna hatha larizquna ma lahu min nafadin

Ahmed Ali

This is surely Our provision never-ending.

54

ھٰذَا۝۰ۭ وَاِنَّ لِلطّٰغِيْنَ لَـشَرَّ مَاٰبٍ۝۵۵ۙ
Hatha wainna lilttagheena lasharra maabin

Ahmed Ali

This (for the virtuous); but for the transgressors the evil destination,

55

جَہَنَّمَ۝۰ۚ يَصْلَوْنَہَا۝۰ۚ فَبِئْسَ الْمِہَادُ۝۵۶
Jahannama yaslawnaha fabisa almihadu

Hell, in which they will burn. How vile a resting place!

56

ھٰذَا۝۰ۙ فَلْيَذُوْقُوْہُ حَمِيْمٌ وَّغَسَّاقٌ۝۵۷ۙ
Hatha falyathooqoohu hameemun waghassaqun

There will be boiling water for them and cold, clammy, fetid drink to taste,

57

وَّاٰخَرُ مِنْ شَكْلِہٖۗ اَزْوَاجٌ۝۵۸ۭ
Waakharu min shaklihi azwajun

Ahmed Ali

And other similar torments.

58

ھٰذَا فَوْجٌ مُّقْتَحِمٌ مَّعَكُمْ۝۰ۚ لَا مَرْحَبًۢا بِہِمْ۝۰ۭ اِنَّہُمْ صَالُوا النَّارِ۝۵۹
Hatha fawjun muqtahimun maAAakum la marhaban bihim innahum saloo alnnari

Ahmed Ali

Here is a multitude rushing headlong with you. There is no welcome for them. They will roast in the fire.

59

قَالُوْا بَلْ اَنْتُمْ۝۰ۣ لَا مَرْحَبًۢا بِكُمْ۝۰ۭ اَنْتُمْ قَدَّمْتُمُوْہُ لَنَا۝۰ۚ فَبِئْسَ الْقَرَارُ۝۶۰
Qaloo bal antum la marhaban bikum antum qaddamtumoohu lana fabisa alqararu

English

Ahmed Ali

They will say: "In fact, it is you who will have no welcome. It is you who brought this upon us. What an evil place of rest!"

60

قَالُوْا رَبَّنَا مَنْ قَدَّمَ لَنَا ھٰذَا فَزِدْہُ عَذَابًا ضِعْفًا فِي النَّارِ۝۶۱
Qaloo rabbana man qaddama lana hatha fazidhu AAathaban diAAfan fee alnnari

Ahmed Ali

They will say: "O Lord, give him who has brought this upon us two times more the torment of Hell;"
