٣٩ - ٱلزُّمَر

39 - Az-Zumar

قُلْ يٰعِبَادِيَ الَّذِيْنَ اَسْرَفُوْا عَلٰۗي اَنْفُسِہِمْ لَا تَقْنَطُوْا مِنْ رَّحْمَۃِ اؘ۝۰ۭ اِنَّ اللہَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوْبَ جَمِيْعًا۝۰ۭ اِنَّہٗ ہُوَالْغَفُوْرُ الرَّحِيْمُ۝۵۳
Qul ya AAibadiya allatheena asrafoo AAala anfusihim la taqnatoo min rahmati Allahi inna Allaha yaghfiru alththunooba jameeAAan innahu huwa alghafooru alrraheemu

English

Ahmed Ali

Say: "O creatures of God, those of you who have acted against your own interests should not be disheartened of the mercy of God. Surely God forgives all sins. He is all-forgiving and all-merciful.

53

وَاَنِيْبُوْۗا اِلٰى رَبِّكُمْ وَاَسْلِمُوْا لَہٗ مِنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ يَّاْتِيَكُمُ الْعَذَابُ ثُمَّ لَا تُنْصَرُوْنَ۝۵۴
Waaneeboo ila rabbikum waaslimoo lahu min qabli an yatiyakumu alAAathabu thumma la tunsaroona

Ahmed Ali

Turn towards your Lord and obey Him before the punishment comes upon you when you will not be helped.

54

وَاتَّبِعُوْۗا اَحْسَنَ مَاۗ اُنْزِلَ اِلَيْكُمْ مِّنْ رَّبِّكُمْ مِّنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ يَّاْتِيَكُمُ الْعَذَابُ بَغْتَۃً وَّاَنْتُمْ لَا تَشْعُرُوْنَ۝۵۵ۙ
WaittabiAAoo ahsana ma onzila ilaykum min rabbikum min qabli an yatiyakumu alAAathabu baghtatan waantum la tashAAuroona

Ahmed Ali

Follow the best of what has been revealed to you by your Lord before the punishment overtakes you suddenly and you are caught unawares,

55

اَنْ تَـقُوْلَ نَفْسٌ يّٰحَسْرَتٰى عَلٰي مَا فَرَّطْتُّ فِيْ جَنْۢبِ اللہِ وَاِنْ كُنْتُ لَمِنَ السّٰخِرِيْنَ۝۵۶ۙ
An taqoola nafsun ya hasrata AAala ma farrattu fee janbi Allahi wain kuntu lamina alssakhireena

Ahmed Ali

Lest a soul should say: "Alas, I was heedless of God and only laughed;"

56

اَوْ تَقُوْلَ لَوْ اَنَّ اللہَ ہَدٰىنِيْ لَكُنْتُ مِنَ الْمُتَّقِيْنَ۝۵۷ۙ
Aw taqoola law anna Allaha hadanee lakuntu mina almuttaqeena

English

Ahmed Ali

Or say: "If only God had guided me I would have been a man of fear and piety;"

57

اَوْ تَـقُوْلَ حِيْنَ تَرَى الْعَذَابَ لَوْ اَنَّ لِيْ كَرَّۃً فَاَكُوْنَ مِنَ الْمُحْسِـنِيْنَ۝۵۸
Aw taqoola heena tara alAAathaba law anna lee karratan faakoona mina almuhsineena

Ahmed Ali

Or say on seeing the punishment: "If I could only return I would be among the good."

58

بَلٰى قَدْ جَاۗءَتْكَ اٰيٰتِيْ فَكَذَّبْتَ بِہَا وَاسْتَكْبَرْتَ وَكُنْتَ مِنَ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ۝۵۹
Bala qad jaatka ayatee fakaththabta biha waistakbarta wakunta mina alkafireena

Ahmed Ali

Why, My revelations had come to you, but you denied them and were filled with pride, and were among the disbelievers.

59

وَيَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَۃِ تَرَى الَّذِيْنَ كَذَبُوْا عَلَي اللہِ وُجُوْہُہُمْ مُّسْوَدَّۃٌ۝۰ۭ اَلَيْسَ فِيْ جَہَنَّمَ مَثْوًى لِّلْمُتَكَبِّرِيْنَ۝۶۰
Wayawma alqiyamati tara allatheena kathaboo AAala Allahi wujoohuhum muswaddatun alaysa fee jahannama mathwan lilmutakabbireena

Ahmed Ali

If you see those who had imputed lies to God on the Day of Resurrection, black would be their faces (with disgrace). Is there not a place in Hell for the arrogant?

60

وَيُنَجِّي اللہُ الَّذِيْنَ اتَّــقَوْا بِمَفَازَتِہِمْ۝۰ۡلَا يَمَسُّہُمُ السُّوْۗءُ وَلَا ہُمْ يَحْزَنُوْنَ۝۶۱
Wayunajjee Allahu allatheena ittaqaw bimafazatihim la yamassuhumu alssooo wala hum yahzanoona

English

Ahmed Ali

God would rescue those who fear Him (and guide them) to places of safety. Neither will evil touch them nor regret.

61

اَللہُ خَالِقُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ۝۰ۡوَّ ہُوَعَلٰي كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَّكِيْلٌ۝۶۲
Allahu khaliqu kulli shayin wahuwa AAala kulli shayin wakeelun

Ahmed Ali

God is the creator of all things, and He is the guarantor of all things.
