٣ - آلِ عِمْرَان

3 - Al-Imran

قُلْ يٰۗاَھْلَ الْكِتٰبِ تَعَالَوْا اِلٰى كَلِمَۃٍ سَوَاۗءٍؚبَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ اَلَّا نَعْبُدَ اِلَّا اللہَ وَلَا نُشْرِكَ بِہٖ شَـيْـــًٔـا وَّلَا يَتَّخِذَ بَعْضُنَا بَعْضًا اَرْبَابًا مِّنْ دُوْنِ اؘ۝۰ۭ فَاِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَقُوْلُوا اشْہَدُوْا بِاَنَّا مُسْلِمُوْنَ۝۶۴
Qul ya ahla alkitabi taAAalaw ila kalimatin sawain baynana wabaynakum alla naAAbuda illa Allaha wala nushrika bihi shayan wala yattakhitha baAAduna baAAdan arbaban min dooni Allahi fain tawallaw faqooloo ishhadoo bianna muslimoona

Ahmed Ali

Tell them: "O people of the Book, let us come to an agreement on that which is common between us, that we worship no one but God, and make none His compeer, and that none of us take any others for lord apart from God." If they turn away you tell them: "Bear witness that we submit to Him."

64

يٰۗاَھْلَ الْكِتٰبِ لِمَ تُحَاۗجُّوْنَ فِيْۗ اِبْرٰہِيْمَ وَمَاۗ اُنْزِلَتِ التَّوْرٰىۃُ وَالْاِنْجِيْلُ اِلَّا مِنْۢ بَعْدِہٖ۝۰ۭ اَفَلَا تَعْقِلُوْنَ۝۶۵
Ya ahla alkitabi lima tuhajjoona fee ibraheema wama onzilati alttawratu waalinjeelu illa min baAAdihi afala taAAqiloona

Ahmed Ali

O people of the Book, why dispute about Abraham? The Torah and the Gospel were sent down after him: Do you not understand?

65

ھٰۗاَنْتُمْ ھٰۗؤُلَاۗءِ حَاجَجْتُمْ فِـيْمَا لَكُمْ بِہٖ عِلْمٌ فَلِمَ تُحَاۗجُّوْنَ فِيْمَا لَيْسَ لَكُمْ بِہٖ عِلْمٌ۝۰ۭ وَاللہُ يَعْلَمُ وَاَنْتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُوْنَ۝۶۶
Haantum haolai hajajtum feema lakum bihi AAilmun falima tuhajjoona feema laysa lakum bihi AAilmun waAllahu yaAAlamu waantum la taAAlamoona

Ahmed Ali

Remember you are those who disputed the things you knew; so wherefore dispute about things you do not know? And God has the knowledge, while you do not know.

66

مَا كَانَ اِبْرٰہِيْمُ يَہُوْدِيًّا وَّلَا نَصْرَانِيًّا وَّ لٰكِنْ كَانَ حَنِيْفًا مُّسْلِمًا۝۰ۭ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِيْنَ۝۶۷
Ma kana ibraheemu yahoodiyyan wala nasraniyyan walakin kana haneefan musliman wama kana mina almushrikeena

Ahmed Ali

Neither was Abraham a Jew nor a Christian, but upright and obedient, and not an idolater.

67

اِنَّ اَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِـاِبْرٰہِيْمَ لَلَّذِيْنَ اتَّبَعُوْہُ وَھٰذَا النَّبِىُّ وَالَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْاۭ وَاللہُ وَلِيُّ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ۝۶۸
Inna awla alnnasi biibraheema lallatheena ittabaAAoohu wahatha alnnabiyyu waallatheena amanoo waAllahu waliyyu almumineena

English

Ahmed Ali

Of all men the nearest to Abraham are those who follow him, and then this Prophet and the faithful; and God is the protector of all believers.

68

وَدَّتْ طَّاۗىِٕفَۃٌ مِّنْ اَھْلِ الْكِتٰبِ لَوْ يُضِلُّوْنَكُمْ۝۰ۭ وَمَا يُضِلُّوْنَ اِلَّاۗ اَنْفُسَھُمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُوْنَ۝۶۹
Waddat taifatun min ahli alkitabi law yudilloonakum wama yudilloona illa anfusahum wama yashAAuroona

English

Ahmed Ali

Some among the people of the Book wish to lead you astray, yet they lead none astray but themselves, though they do not realise.

69

يٰۗاَھْلَ الْكِتٰبِ لِمَ تَكْفُرُوْنَ بِاٰيٰتِ اللہِ وَاَنْتُمْ تَشْہَدُوْنَ۝۷۰
Ya ahla alkitabi lima takfuroona biayati Allahi waantum tashhadoona

Ahmed Ali

O people of the Book, why do you disbelieve the signs of God having witnessed them yourselves?

70

يٰۗاَھْلَ الْكِتٰبِ لِمَ تَلْبِسُوْنَ الْحَقَّ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُوْنَ الْحَقَّ وَاَنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُوْنَ۝۷۱ۧ
Ya ahla alkitabi lima talbisoona alhaqqa bialbatili wataktumoona alhaqqa waantum taAAlamoona

O people of the Book, why do you mix the false with the true, and hide the truth knowingly?
