٤ - ٱلنِّسَاء

4 - An-Nisa

اِنَّ اللہَ لَا يَغْفِرُ اَنْ يُّشْرَكَ بِہٖ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُوْنَ ذٰلِكَ لِمَنْ يَّشَاۗءُ۝۰ۭ وَمَنْ يُّشْرِكْ بِاللہِ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ ضَلٰلًۢا بَعِيْدًا۝۱۱۶
Inna Allaha la yaghfiru an yushraka bihi wayaghfiru ma doona thalika liman yashao waman yushrik biAllahi faqad dalla dalalan baAAeedan

English

Ahmed Ali

God does not forgive that compeers be ascribed to Him, and absolves all else whatsoever He will. And he who associates compeers with God has indeed wandered far astray.

116

اِنْ يَّدْعُوْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِہٖۗ اِلَّاۗ اِنٰثًا۝۰ۚ وَاِنْ يَّدْعُوْنَ اِلَّا شَيْطٰنًا مَّرِيْدًا۝۱۱۷ۙ
In yadAAoona min doonihi illa inathan wain yadAAoona illa shaytanan mareedan

English

Ahmed Ali

In His place they invoke only females (the pagan deities); and instead of Him they invoke Satan the obstinate rebel

117

لَّعَنَہُ اؙ۝۰ۘ وَقَالَ لَاَتَّخِذَنَّ مِنْ عِبَادِكَ نَصِيْبًا مَّفْرُوْضًا۝۱۱۸ۙ
LaAAanahu Allahu waqala laattakhithanna min AAibadika naseeban mafroodan

English

Ahmed Ali

Who was condemned by God and who said: "I shall take from Thy creatures my determinate share,

118

وَّلَاُضِلَّنَّھُمْ وَلَاُمَنِّيَنَّھُمْ وَلَاٰمُرَنَّھُمْ فَلَيُبَتِّكُنَّ اٰذَانَ الْاَنْعَامِ وَلَاٰمُرَنَّھُمْ فَلَيُغَيِّرُنَّ خَلْقَ اؘ۝۰ۭ وَمَنْ يَّتَّخِذِ الشَّيْطٰنَ وَلِيًّا مِّنْ دُوْنِ اللہِ فَقَدْ خَسِرَ خُسْرَانًا مُّبِيْنًا۝۱۱۹ۭ
Walaodillannahum walaomanniyannahum walaamurannahum falayubattikunna athana alanAAami walaamurannahum falayughayyirunna khalqa Allahi waman yattakhithi alshshaytana waliyyan min dooni Allahi faqad khasira khusranan mubeenan

Ahmed Ali

And mislead them and tempt them, and order them to slit the ears of animals; and order them to alter God's creation." He who holds Satan as friend in place of God will assuredly be damned to perdition.

119

يَعِدُھُمْ وَيُمَنِّيْہِمْ۝۰ۭ وَمَا يَعِدُھُمُ الشَّيْطٰنُ اِلَّا غُرُوْرًا۝۱۲۰
YaAAiduhum wayumanneehim wama yaAAiduhumu alshshaytanu illa ghurooran

English

Ahmed Ali

Whatever the promises he makes, whatever the desires he enkindles, and whatever the hopes Satan rouses in them, are no more than delusion.

120

اُولٰۗىِٕكَ مَاْوٰىھُمْ جَہَنَّمُ۝۰ۡوَلَا يَجِدُوْنَ عَنْھَا مَحِيْصًا۝۱۲۱
Olaika mawahum jahannamu wala yajidoona AAanha maheesan

English

Ahmed Ali

For such the abode is only Hell from which they will find no escape.

121

وَالَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ سَـنُدْخِلُھُمْ جَنّٰتٍ تَجْرِيْ مِنْ تَحْتِھَا الْاَنْھٰرُ خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْھَاۗ اَبَدًا۝۰ۭ وَعْدَ اللہِ حَقًّا۝۰ۭ وَمَنْ اَصْدَقُ مِنَ اللہِ قِيْلًا۝۱۲۲
Waallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati sanudkhiluhum jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu khalideena feeha abadan waAAda Allahi haqqan waman asdaqu mina Allahi qeelan

Ahmed Ali

But those who believe and do good deeds We shall admit into gardens with streams of running water where they will abide for ever. True is the promise of God; and whose word could be truer than God's?

122

لَيْسَ بِاَمَانِيِّكُمْ وَلَاۗ اَمَانِيِّ اَھْلِ الْكِتٰبِ۝۰ۭ مَنْ يَّعْمَلْ سُوْۗءًا يُّجْزَ بِہٖ۝۰ۙ وَلَا يَجِدْ لَہٗ مِنْ دُوْنِ اللہِ وَلِيًّا وَّلَا نَصِيْرًا۝۱۲۳
Laysa biamaniyyikum wala amaniyyi ahli alkitabi man yaAAmal sooan yujza bihi wala yajid lahu min dooni Allahi waliyyan wala naseeran

English

Ahmed Ali

It is neither dependent on your wishes, nor the wishes of the people of the Book, (but) whosoever does ill will be punished for it, and will find no protector or friend apart from God;

123

وَمَنْ يَّعْمَلْ مِنَ الصّٰلِحٰتِ مِنْ ذَكَرٍ اَوْ اُنْثٰى وَھُوَمُؤْمِنٌ فَاُولٰۗىِٕكَ يَدْخُلُوْنَ الْجَنَّۃَ وَلَا يُظْلَمُوْنَ نَقِيْرًا۝۱۲۴
Waman yaAAmal mina alssalihati min thakarin aw ontha wahuwa muminun faolaika yadkhuloona aljannata wala yuthlamoona naqeeran

English

Ahmed Ali

But he who performs good deeds, whether man or a woman, and is a believer, will surely enter Paradise, and none shall be deprived even of an iota of his reward.

124

وَمَنْ اَحْسَنُ دِيْنًا مِّمَّنْ اَسْلَمَ وَجْہَہٗ لِلہِ وَھُوَمُحْسِنٌ وَّاتَّبَعَ مِلَّــۃَ اِبْرٰہِيْمَ حَنِيْفًا۝۰ۭ وَاتَّخَذَ اللہُ اِبْرٰہِيْمَ خَلِيْلًا۝۱۲۵
Waman ahsanu deenan mimman aslama wajhahu lillahi wahuwa muhsinun waittabaAAa millata ibraheema haneefan waittakhatha Allahu ibraheema khaleelan

English

Ahmed Ali

Whose way is better than that of the man who has submitted to God, and does good, and who follows the creed of Abraham the upright? And God chose Abraham as friend.
