Juz 19 (وقال الذين)

٢٥ - ٱلْفُرْقَان

25 - Al-Furqan

وَقَالَ الَّذِيْنَ لَا يَرْجُوْنَ لِقَاۗءَنَا لَوْلَاۗ اُنْزِلَ عَلَيْنَا الْمَلٰۗىِٕكَۃُ اَوْ نَرٰي رَبَّنَا۝۰ۭ لَـقَدِ اسْـتَكْبَرُوْا فِيْۗ اَنْفُسِہِمْ وَعَتَوْ عُتُوًّا كَبِيْرًا۝۲۱
Waqala allatheena la yarjoona liqaana lawla onzila AAalayna almalaikatu aw nara rabbana laqadi istakbaroo fee anfusihim waAAataw AAutuwwan kabeeran

English

Ahmed Ali

Those who do not hope to meet Us say: "Why are no angels sent down to us, or why do we not see our Lord?" They are full of self-conceit and behave with intense arrogance.

21

يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَ الْمَلٰۗىِٕكَۃَ لَا بُشْرٰى يَوْمَىِٕذٍ لِّلْمُجْرِمِيْنَ وَ يَقُوْلُوْنَ حِجْـرًا مَّحْجُوْرًا۝۲۲
Yawma yarawna almalaikata la bushra yawmaithin lilmujrimeena wayaqooloona hijran mahjooran

English

Ahmed Ali

The day they see the angels there will be no happy tidings for the sinners; and they will say: "There is an insurmountable barrier!"

22

وَقَدِمْنَاۗ اِلٰى مَا عَمِلُوْا مِنْ عَمَلٍ فَجَـعَلْنٰہُ ہَبَاۗءً مَّنْثُوْرًا۝۲۳
Waqadimna ila ma AAamiloo min AAamalin fajaAAalnahu habaan manthooran

We shall turn to their deeds and scatter them like particles of dust.

23

اَصْحٰبُ الْجَنَّۃِ يَوْمَىِٕذٍ خَيْرٌ مُّسْتَــقَرًّا وَّاَحْسَنُ مَقِيْلًا۝۲۴
Ashabu aljannati yawmaithin khayrun mustaqarran waahsanu maqeelan

English

Ahmed Ali

The inmates of Paradise will have a better abode that day, and a better resting place.

24

وَيَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ السَّمَاۗءُ بِالْغَمَامِ وَنُزِّلَ الْمَلٰۗىِٕكَۃُ تَنْزِيْلًا۝۲۵
Wayawma tashaqqaqu alssamao bialghamami wanuzzila almalaikatu tanzeelan

The day the heavens splits asunder with a dazzling white cloud gathering and the angels descend in a continuous stream,

25

اَلْمُلْكُ يَوْمَىِٕذِۨ الْحَقُّ لِلرَّحْمٰنِ۝۰ۭ وَكَانَ يَوْمًا عَلَي الْكٰفِرِيْنَ عَسِيْرًا۝۲۶
Almulku yawmaithin alhaqqu lilrrahmani wakana yawman AAala alkafireena AAaseeran

Ahmed Ali

The real sovereignty will belong to Ar-Rahman. How grievous will be the day for the infidels!

26

وَيَوْمَ يَعَضُّ الظَّالِمُ عَلٰي يَدَيْہِ يَقُوْلُ يٰلَيْتَنِي اتَّخَذْتُ مَعَ الرَّسُوْلِ سَبِيْلًا۝۲۷
Wayawma yaAAaddu alththalimu AAala yadayhi yaqoolu ya laytanee ittakhathtu maAAa alrrasooli sabeelan

Ahmed Ali

The sinner will then bite his hand and say: "Would that I had taken the road with the Prophet.

27

يٰوَيْلَتٰى لَيْتَنِيْ لَمْ اَتَّخِذْ فُلَانًا خَلِيْلًا۝۲۸
Ya waylata laytanee lam attakhith fulanan khaleelan

Ahmed Ali

Woe alas, ah would I had not taken so-and-so as friend!

28

لَقَدْ اَضَلَّنِيْ عَنِ الذِّكْرِ بَعْدَ اِذْ جَاۗءَنِيْ۝۰ۭ وَكَانَ الشَّيْطٰنُ لِلْاِنْسَانِ خَذُوْلًا۝۲۹
Laqad adallanee AAani alththikri baAAda ith jaanee wakana alshshaytanu lilinsani khathoolan

Ahmed Ali

He led me astray from the Warning after it had come to me. Satan always betrays man.

29

وَقَالَ الرَّسُوْلُ يٰرَبِّ اِنَّ قَوْمِي اتَّخَذُوْا ھٰذَا الْقُرْاٰنَ مَہْجُوْرًا۝۳۰
Waqala alrrasoolu ya rabbi inna qawmee ittakhathoo hatha alqurana mahjooran

Ahmed Ali

The prophet will say: "O my Lord, my people had fettered the Qur'an."
