٦ - ٱلْأَنْعَام

6 - Al-An'am

قُلْ اَنَدْعُوْا مِنْ دُوْنِ اللہِ مَا لَا يَنْفَعُنَا وَلَا يَضُرُّنَا وَنُرَدُّ عَلٰۗي اَعْقَابِنَا بَعْدَ اِذْ ہَدٰىنَا اللہُ كَالَّذِي اسْتَہْوَتْہُ الشَّيٰطِيْنُ فِي الْاَرْضِ حَيْرَانَ۝۰۠ لَہٗۗ اَصْحٰبٌ يَّدْعُوْنَہٗۗ اِلَى الْہُدَى ائْتِنَا۝۰ۭ قُلْ اِنَّ ہُدَى اللہِ ہُوَالْہُدٰي۝۰ۭ وَاُمِرْنَا لِنُسْلِمَ لِرَبِّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ۝۷۱ۙ
Qul anadAAoo min dooni Allahi ma la yanfaAAuna wala yadurruna wanuraddu AAala aAAqabina baAAda ith hadana Allahu kaallathee istahwathu alshshayateenu fee alardi hayrana lahu ashabun yadAAoonahu ila alhuda itina qul inna huda Allahi huwa alhuda waomirna linuslima lirabbi alAAalameena

Ahmed Ali

Say: 'Should we call in place of God one who can neither help nor do us harm, and turn back after having been guided by God, like a man beguiled by the devils who wanders perplexed in the wilderness while his friends call him back to the right path, saying: 'Come to us, this way?' Say: "God's guidance is (true) guidance, and we have been commanded to submit to the Lord of all the worlds.

71

وَاَنْ اَقِيْمُوا الصَّلٰوۃَ وَ اتَّقُوْہُ۝۰ۭ وَہُوَالَّذِيْۗ اِلَيْہِ تُحْشَرُوْنَ۝۷۲
Waan aqeemoo alssalata waittaqoohu wahuwa allathee ilayhi tuhsharoona

English

Ahmed Ali

Observe (your) devotional obligations and fear (God), for it is He before whom you will be gathered (in the end)."

72

وَہُوَالَّذِيْ خَلَقَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ بِالْحَقِّ۝۰ۭ وَيَوْمَ يَقُوْلُ كُنْ فَيَكُوْنُ۝۰ۥۭ قَوْلُہُ الْحَقُّ۝۰ۭ وَلَہُ الْمُلْكُ يَوْمَ يُنْفَخُ فِي الصُّوْرِ۝۰ۭ عٰلِمُ الْغَيْبِ وَ الشَّہَادَۃِ۝۰ۭ وَہُوَالْحَكِيْمُ الْخَبِيْرُ۝۷۳
Wahuwa allathee khalaqa alssamawati waalarda bialhaqqi wayawma yaqoolu kun fayakoonu qawluhu alhaqqu walahu almulku yawma yunfakhu fee alssoori AAalimu alghaybi waalshshahadati wahuwa alhakeemu alkhabeeru

It is He who created the heavens and the earth with a definite purpose. The day He will say "Be, " it will be. His word is the truth, His alone the power on the Day when the blast of the trumpet will be sounded. He knows the hidden and the visible. He is all-prudent and all-knowing.

73

وَاِذْ قَالَ اِبْرٰہِيْمُ لِاَبِيْہِ اٰزَرَ اَتَتَّخِذُ اَصْنَامًا اٰلِہَۃً۝۰ۚ اِنِّىْۗ اَرٰىكَ وَقَوْمَكَ فِيْ ضَلٰلٍ مُّبِيْنٍ۝۷۴
Waith qala ibraheemu liabeehi azara atattakhithu asnaman alihatan innee araka waqawmaka fee dalalin mubeenin

English

Ahmed Ali

Remember when Abraham said to Azar, his father: "Why do you take idols for God? I certainly find you and your people in error."

74

وَكَذٰلِكَ نُرِيْۗ اِبْرٰہِيْمَ مَلَكُوْتَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَلِيَكُوْنَ مِنَ الْمُوْقِنِيْنَ۝۷۵
Wakathalika nuree ibraheema malakoota alssamawati waalardi waliyakoona mina almooqineena

Ahmed Ali

Thus We showed to Abraham the visible and invisible world of the heavens and the earth, that he could be among those who believe.

75

فَلَمَّا جَنَّ عَلَيْہِ الَّيْلُ رَاٰ كَوْكَبًا۝۰ۚ قَالَ ہٰذَا رَبِّيْ۝۰ۚ فَلَمَّاۗ اَفَلَ قَالَ لَاۗ اُحِبُّ الْاٰفِلِيْنَ۝۷۶
Falamma janna AAalayhi allaylu raa kawkaban qala hatha rabbee falamma afala qala la ohibbu alafileena

Ahmed Ali

When the night came with her covering of darkness he saw a star, and (Azar, his father) said: "This is my Lord." But when the star set, (Abraham) said: "I love not those that wane."

76

فَلَمَّا رَاَ الْقَمَرَ بَازِغًا قَالَ ہٰذَا رَبِّيْ۝۰ۚ فَلَمَّاۗ اَفَلَ قَالَ لَىِٕنْ لَّمْ يَہْدِنِيْ رَبِّيْ لَاَكُوْنَنَّ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الضَّاۗلِّيْنَ۝۷۷
Falamma raa alqamara bazighan qala hatha rabbee falamma afala qala lain lam yahdinee rabbee laakoonanna mina alqawmi alddalleena

Ahmed Ali

When (Azar) saw the moon rise all aglow, he said: "This is my Lord." But even as the moon set, (Abraham) said: "If my Lord had not shown me the way I would surely have gone astray."

77

فَلَمَّا رَاَ الشَّمْسَ بَازِغَۃً قَالَ ہٰذَا رَبِّيْ ہٰذَاۗ اَكْبَرُ۝۰ۚ فَلَمَّاۗ اَفَلَتْ قَالَ يٰقَوْمِ اِنِّىْ بَرِيْۗءٌ مِّمَّا تُشْرِكُوْنَ۝۷۸
Falamma raa alshshamsa bazighatan qala hatha rabbee hatha akbaru falamma afalat qala ya qawmi innee bareeon mimma tushrikoona

Ahmed Ali

When (Azar) saw the sun rise all resplendent, he said: "My Lord is surely this, and the greatest of them all." But the sun also set, and (Abraham) said: "O my people, I am through with those you associate (with God).

78

اِنِّىْ وَجَّہْتُ وَجْہِيَ لِلَّذِيْ فَطَرَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ حَنِيْفًا وَّمَاۗ اَنَا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِيْنَ۝۷۹ۚ
Innee wajjahtu wajhiya lillathee fatara alssamawati waalarda haneefan wama ana mina almushrikeena

English

Ahmed Ali

I have truly turned my face towards Him who created the heavens and the earth: I have chosen one way and am not an idolater."

79

وَحَاۗجَّہٗ قَوْمُہٗ۝۰ۭ قَالَ اَتُحَاۗجُّوْۗنِّىْ فِي اللہِ وَقَدْ ہَدٰىنِ۝۰ۭ وَلَاۗ اَخَافُ مَا تُشْرِكُوْنَ بِہٖۗ اِلَّاۗ اَنْ يَّشَاۗءَ رَبِّيْ شَـيْــــًٔـا۝۰ۭ وَسِعَ رَبِّيْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ عِلْمًا۝۰ۭ اَفَلَا تَتَذَكَّرُوْنَ۝۸۰
Wahajjahu qawmuhu qala atuhajjoonnee fee Allahi waqad hadani wala akhafu ma tushrikoona bihi illa an yashaa rabbee shayan wasiAAa rabbee kulla shayin AAilman afala tatathakkaroona

His people argued, and he said: "Do you argue with me about God? He has guided me already, and I fear not what you associate with Him, unless my Lord wills, for held within the knowledge of my Lord is everything. Will you not reflect?

80
