١٦ - ٱلنَّحْل

16 - An-Nahl

يَوْمَ تَاْتِيْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ تُجَادِلُ عَنْ نَّفْسِہَا وَتُوَفّٰى كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا عَمِلَتْ وَہُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُوْنَ۝۱۱۱
Yawma tatee kullu nafsin tujadilu AAan nafsiha watuwaffa kullu nafsin ma AAamilat wahum la yuthlamoona

Ahmed Ali

On the day when every soul will come pleading for itself, and every soul will be recompensed for what it had done, no one will be wronged.

111

وَضَرَبَ اللہُ مَثَلًا قَرْيَۃً كَانَتْ اٰمِنَۃً مُّطْمَىِٕنَّۃً يَّاْتِيْہَا رِزْقُہَا رَغَدًا مِّنْ كُلِّ مَكَانٍ فَكَفَرَتْ بِاَنْعُمِ اللہِ فَاَذَاقَہَا اللہُ لِبَاسَ الْجُوْعِ وَالْخَوْفِ بِمَا كَانُوْا يَصْنَعُوْنَ۝۱۱۲
Wadaraba Allahu mathalan qaryatan kanat aminatan mutmainnatan yateeha rizquha raghadan min kulli makanin fakafarat bianAAumi Allahi faathaqaha Allahu libasa aljooAAi waalkhawfi bima kanoo yasnaAAoona

Ahmed Ali

God presents the example of a town which enjoyed peace and security, its provisions coming from everywhere in abundance, but it denied the favours of God; so God acquainted it with intimate hunger and fear (as punishment) for what they had done.

112

وَلَقَدْ جَاۗءَہُمْ رَسُوْلٌ مِّنْہُمْ فَكَذَّبُوْہُ فَاَخَذَہُمُ الْعَذَابُ وَہُمْ ظٰلِمُوْنَ۝۱۱۳
Walaqad jaahum rasoolun minhum fakaththaboohu faakhathahumu alAAathabu wahum thalimoona

Ahmed Ali

An apostle came to them who was one of them, but they called him a liar. Then they were seized by torment for they were sinners.

113

فَكُلُوْا مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ اللہُ حَلٰلًا طَيِّبًا۝۰۠ وَّاشْكُرُوْا نِعْمَتَ اللہِ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ اِيَّاہُ تَعْبُدُوْنَ۝۱۱۴
Fakuloo mimma razaqakumu Allahu halalan tayyiban waoshkuroo niAAmata Allahi in kuntum iyyahu taAAbudoona

Ahmed Ali

Eat the good and lawful of things that God has given you, and be grateful for the bounty of God, if you really worship Him.

114

اِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْمَيْتَۃَ وَالدَّمَ وَلَحْمَ الْخِنْزِيْرِ وَمَاۗ اُہِلَّ لِغَيْرِ اللہِ بِہٖ۝۰ۚ فَمَنِ اضْطُرَّ غَيْرَ بَاغٍ وَّلَا عَادٍ فَاِنَّ اللہَ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ۝۱۱۵
Innama harrama AAalaykumu almaytata waalddama walahma alkhinzeeri wama ohilla lighayri Allahi bihi famani idturra ghayra baghin wala AAadin fainna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun

English

Ahmed Ali

He has forbidden carrion and blood and the flesh of the swine, and what has been killed in the name of any other but God; but if one is driven by necessity (to eat it) without craving or reverting to it, then God is forgiving and kind.

115

وَلَا تَــقُوْلُوْا لِمَا تَصِفُ اَلْسِنَتُكُمُ الْكَذِبَ ھٰذَا حَلٰلٌ وَّھٰذَا حَرَامٌ لِّتَفْتَرُوْا عَلَي اللہِ الْكَذِبَ۝۰ۭ اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ يَفْتَرُوْنَ عَلَي اللہِ الْكَذِبَ لَا يُفْلِحُوْنَ۝۱۱۶ۭ
Wala taqooloo lima tasifu alsinatukumu alkathiba hatha halalun wahatha haramun litaftaroo AAala Allahi alkathiba inna allatheena yaftaroona AAala Allahi alkathiba la yuflihoona

Ahmed Ali

Do not utter the lies your tongues make up: "This is lawful, and this is forbidden," in order to impute lies to God; for they who impute lies to God will not find fulfilment.

116

مَتَاعٌ قَلِيْلٌ۝۰۠ وَّلَہُمْ عَذَابٌ اَلِيْمٌ۝۱۱۷
MataAAun qaleelun walahum AAathabun aleemun

Ahmed Ali

For them there is some enjoyment, but the punishment is painful.

117

وَعَلَي الَّذِيْنَ ہَادُوْا حَرَّمْنَا مَا قَصَصْنَا عَلَيْكَ مِنْ قَبْلُ۝۰ۚ وَمَا ظَلَمْنٰہُمْ وَلٰكِنْ كَانُوْۗا اَنْفُسَہُمْ يَظْلِمُوْنَ۝۱۱۸
WaAAala allatheena hadoo harramna ma qasasna AAalayka min qablu wama thalamnahum walakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoona

Ahmed Ali

We have already told you what We have forbidden the Jews. We did not wrong them, they wronged themselves.

118

ثُمَّ اِنَّ رَبَّكَ لِلَّذِيْنَ عَمِلُوا السُّوْۗءَ بِجَــہَالَۃٍ ثُمَّ تَابُوْا مِنْۢ بَعْدِ ذٰلِكَ وَاَصْلَحُوْۗا۝۰ۙ اِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِنْۢ بَعْدِہَا لَغَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ۝۱۱۹ۧ
Thumma inna rabbaka lillatheena AAamiloo alssooa bijahalatin thumma taboo min baAAdi thalika waaslahoo inna rabbaka min baAAdiha laghafoorun raheemun

Ahmed Ali

To those who do wrong out of ignorance, then repent and correct themselves, your Lord is indeed forgiving and kind.
