Barrie Mosque is also known as Noor-ul-Islam Ontario Corp. and is registered as a charitable organization. It is looked after by 5 members of its Board of Trustees, who belong to diverse backgrounds. Barrie mosque was established in 1977 and was a center for Muslims living in Simcoe County.

It served and still serves as a center for Islamic education, religious events, and community activities. It was built as a full-fledged mosque in 2004, serving Barrie and all the areas surrounding it with a worship place. The mosque has two floors; the lower rooms are reserved for community activities, and there is a kitchen and restroom, while the top floor is a main prayer hall.

The Barrie Mosque also provides Nikkah services and registers your marriage provincially. The bride should be present with her Wali (guardian) and two witnesses who are male adults. The groom should be with his side of two witnesses and the dower (mahr) that he will pay the bride. The imam at the mosque is a registered Ontario Licensed Marriage Officer and, therefore, is authorized to complete the necessary paperwork to register your marriage in the Province of Ontario.
