Barrie Mosque is also known as Noor-ul-Islam Ontario Corp. and is registered as a charitable organization. It is looked after by 5 members of its Board of Trustees, who belong to diverse backgrounds. Barrie mosque was established in 1977 and was a center for Muslims living in Simcoe County.
It served and still serves as a center for Islamic education, religious events, and community activities. It was built as a full-fledged mosque in 2004, serving Barrie and all the areas surrounding it with a worship place. The mosque has two floors; the lower rooms are reserved for community activities, and there is a kitchen and restroom, while the top floor is a main prayer hall.
