The Al-Rashid Mosque in Edmonton is reported to be the first mosque in Canada. Hilwi Hamdon led the campaign, which resulted in the construction of the first mosque in 1938. The construction of the Al-Rashid mosque opened the floodgates, and many more mosques were constructed in the years that followed. Most notably, the Bosnian Islamic Center, the London Muslim Mosque, and the Midnight Sun Mosque. Today, there are many mosques in Canada, and we will be looking at a few in Brossard, Quebec.
