٢١ - ٱلْأَنْبِيَاء

21 - Al-Anbiya

قُلْ مَنْ يَّـكْلَـؤُكُمْ بِالَّيْلِ وَالنَّہَارِ مِنَ الرَّحْمٰنِ۝۰ۭ بَلْ ہُمْ عَنْ ذِكْرِ رَبِّہِمْ مُّعْرِضُوْنَ۝۴۲
Qul man yaklaokum biallayli waalnnahari mina alrrahmani bal hum AAan thikri rabbihim muAAridoona

English

Ahmed Ali

Say: "Who guards you from Ar-Rahman by night and by day?" Yet from a mention of their Lord they turn away.

42

اَمْ لَـہُمْ اٰلِـہَۃٌ تَمْــنَعُہُمْ مِّنْ دُوْنِنَا۝۰ۭ لَا يَسْتَطِيْعُوْنَ نَصْرَ اَنْـفُسِہِمْ وَلَا ہُمْ مِّنَّا يُصْحَبُوْنَ۝۴۳
Am lahum alihatun tamnaAAuhum min doonina la yastateeAAoona nasra anfusihim wala hum minna yushaboona

English

Ahmed Ali

Or do they have lords of their own besides Us who can defend them? But they are not able to help themselves, nor can they find protection against Us.

43

بَلْ مَتَّعْنَا ہٰۗؤُلَاۗءِ وَاٰبَاۗءَہُمْ حَتّٰى طَالَ عَلَيْہِمُ الْعُمُرُ۝۰ۭ اَفَلَا يَرَوْنَ اَنَّا نَاْتِي الْاَرْضَ نَنْقُصُہَا مِنْ اَطْرَافِہَا۝۰ۭ اَفَـہُمُ الْغٰلِبُوْنَ۝۴۴
Bal mattaAAna haolai waabaahum hatta tala AAalayhimu alAAumuru afala yarawna anna natee alarda nanqusuha min atrafiha afahumu alghaliboona

English

Ahmed Ali

We allowed them and their fathers time to enjoy till the very end of their lives. Do they not see Us advancing into the land, reducing its frontiers? Would they still prevail?

44

قُلْ اِنَّمَاۗ اُنْذِرُكُمْ بِالْوَحْيِ۝۰ۡۖ وَلَا يَسْمَعُ الصُّمُّ الدُّعَاۗءَ اِذَا مَا يُنْذَرُوْنَ۝۴۵
Qul innama onthirukum bialwahyi wala yasmaAAu alssummu aldduAAaa itha ma yuntharoona

Ahmed Ali

Say: "I am warning you by God's command." But the deaf do not hear the call when they are warned.

45

وَلَىِٕنْ مَّسَّتْہُمْ نَفْحَۃٌ مِّنْ عَذَابِ رَبِّكَ لَيَقُوْلُنَّ يٰوَيْلَنَاۗ اِنَّا كُنَّا ظٰلِمِيْنَ۝۴۶
Walain massathum nafhatun min AAathabi rabbika layaqoolunna ya waylana inna kunna thalimeena

English

Ahmed Ali

Even if a whiff of the Lord's chastisement were to touch them they would surely say: "Ah woe, alas, we were surely sinful."

46

وَنَضَعُ الْمَوَازِيْنَ الْقِسْطَ لِيَوْمِ الْقِيٰمَۃِ فَلَا تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٌ شَـيْــــــًٔا۝۰ۭ وَاِنْ كَانَ مِثْقَالَ حَبَّۃٍ مِّنْ خَرْدَلٍ اَتَيْنَابِہَا۝۰ۭ وَكَفٰى بِنَا حٰسِـبِيْنَ۝۴۷
WanadaAAu almawazeena alqista liyawmi alqiyamati fala tuthlamu nafsun shayan wain kana mithqala habbatin min khardalin atayna biha wakafa bina hasibeena

Ahmed Ali

We shall fix the scales of justice on the Day of Resurrection, so that none will be wronged in the least; and even if it were equal to a mustard seed in weight We shall take it (into account). We are sufficient for computation.

47

وَلَقَدْ اٰتَيْنَا مُوْسٰى وَہٰرُوْنَ الْـفُرْقَانَ وَضِيَاۗءً وَّذِكْرًا لِّـلْمُتَّـقِيْنَ۝۴۸ۙ
Walaqad atayna moosa waharoona alfurqana wadiyaan wathikran lilmuttaqeena

Ahmed Ali

We gave Moses and Aaron the Criterion, and a light and reminder for those who take heed for themselves,

48

الَّذِيْنَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّہُمْ بِالْغَيْبِ وَہُمْ مِّنَ السَّاعَۃِ مُشْفِقُوْنَ۝۴۹
Allatheena yakhshawna rabbahum bialghaybi wahum mina alssaAAati mushfiqoona

Ahmed Ali

Who are fearful of their Lord inwardly and dread the Hour.

49

وَھٰذَا ذِكْرٌ مُّبٰرَكٌ اَنْزَلْنٰہُ۝۰ۭ اَفَاَنْتُمْ لَہٗ مُنْكِرُوْنَ۝۵۰ۧ
Wahatha thikrun mubarakun anzalnahu afaantum lahu munkiroona

Ahmed Ali

And this is a blessed reminder that We have sent down. Will you then deny it?
