٢٥ - ٱلْفُرْقَان

25 - Al-Furqan

اَلَمْ تَرَ اِلٰى رَبِّكَ كَيْفَ مَدَّ الظِّلَّ۝۰ۚ وَلَوْ شَاۗءَ لَجَعَلَہٗ سَاكِنًا۝۰ۚ ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَا الشَّمْسَ عَلَيْہِ دَلِيْلًا۝۴۵ۙ
Alam tara ila rabbika kayfa madda alththilla walaw shaa lajaAAalahu sakinan thumma jaAAalna alshshamsa AAalayhi daleelan

English

Ahmed Ali

Have you not seen how your Lord lengthens out the shadow? He could have kept it motionless if He liked. Yet We make the sun its pilot to show the way.

45

ثُمَّ قَبَضْنٰہُ اِلَيْنَا قَبْضًا يَّسِيْرًا۝۴۶
Thumma qabadnahu ilayna qabdan yaseeran

English

Ahmed Ali

Then We draw it back to Us, withdrawing it little by little.

46

وَہُوَالَّذِيْ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الَّيْلَ لِبَاسًا وَّالنَّوْمَ سُـبَاتًا وَّجَعَلَ النَّہَارَ نُشُوْرًا۝۴۷
Wahuwa allathee jaAAala lakumu allayla libasan waalnnawma subatan wajaAAala alnnahara nushooran

English

Ahmed Ali

It is He who made the night a covering for you; and made sleep for rest, the day for rising.

47

وَہُوَالَّذِيْۗ اَرْسَلَ الرِّيٰحَ بُشْرًۢا بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَحْمَتِہٖ۝۰ۚ وَاَنْزَلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَاۗءِ مَاۗءً طَہُوْرًا۝۴۸ۙ
Wahuwa allathee arsala alrriyaha bushran bayna yaday rahmatihi waanzalna mina alssamai maan tahooran

English

Ahmed Ali

It is He who sends the winds with auspicious news in advance of His benevolence; and We send pure water down from the sky

48

لِّنُحْيِۦ بِہٖ بَلْدَۃً مَّيْتًا وَّنُسْقِيَہٗ مِمَّا خَلَقْنَاۗ اَنْعَامًا وَّاَنَاسِيَّ كَثِيْرًا۝۴۹
Linuhyiya bihi baldatan maytan wanusqiyahu mimma khalaqna anAAaman waanasiyya katheeran

English

Ahmed Ali

To quicken a region that was dead, and to give it as drink to animals We have created and to men in plenty.

49

وَلَقَدْ صَرَّفْنٰہُ بَيْنَہُمْ لِيَذَّكَّرُوْا۝۰ۡۖ فَاَبٰۗى اَكْثَرُ النَّاسِ اِلَّا كُفُوْرًا۝۵۰
Walaqad sarrafnahu baynahum liyaththakkaroo faaba aktharu alnnasi illa kufooran

English

Ahmed Ali

And We distribute it among them in various ways that they may ponder and reflect; yet most men disdain everything but denial and thanklessness.

50

وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَبَعَثْنَا فِيْ كُلِّ قَرْيَۃٍ نَّذِيْرًا۝۵۱ۡۖ
Walaw shina labaAAathna fee kulli qaryatin natheeran

Ahmed Ali

Had We pleased We could have raised a warner in every town.

51

فَلَا تُطِعِ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ وَ جَاہِدْہُمْ بِہٖ جِہَادًا كَبِيْرًا۝۵۲
Fala tutiAAi alkafireena wajahidhum bihi jihadan kabeeran

Ahmed Ali

So do not listen to unbelievers, and strive against them with greater effort.

52

وَہُوَالَّذِيْ مَرَجَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ ھٰذَا عَذْبٌ فُرَاتٌ وَّھٰذَا مِلْحٌ اُجَاجٌ۝۰ۚ وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَہُمَا بَرْزَخًا وَّحِجْرًا مَّحْجُوْرًا۝۵۳
Wahuwa allathee maraja albahrayni hatha AAathbun furatun wahatha milhun ojajun wajaAAala baynahuma barzakhan wahijran mahjooran

English

Ahmed Ali

It is He who made two bodies of water flow side by side, one fresh (and) sweet, the other brine (and) bitter, and has placed an interstice, a barrier between them.

53

وَہُوَالَّذِيْ خَلَقَ مِنَ الْمَاۗءِ بَشَرًا فَجَعَلَہٗ نَسَبًا وَّ صِہْرًا۝۰ۭ وَكَانَ رَبُّكَ قَدِيْرًا۝۵۴
Wahuwa allathee khalaqa mina almai basharan fajaAAalahu nasaban wasihran wakana rabbuka qadeeran

English

Ahmed Ali

It is He who created man from water, then gave him consanguinity and affinity. Your Lord is omnipotent.
