١٠ - يُونُس

10 - Yunus

وَاِنْ كَذَّبُوْكَ فَقُلْ لِّيْ عَمَلِيْ وَلَكُمْ عَمَلُكُمْ۝۰ۚ اَنْتُمْ بَرِيْۗـــــُٔوْنَ مِمَّاۗ اَعْمَلُ وَاَنَا بَرِيْۗءٌ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُوْنَ۝۴۱
Wain kaththabooka faqul lee AAamalee walakum AAamalukum antum bareeoona mimma aAAmalu waana bareeon mimma taAAmaloona

English

Ahmed Ali

If they (still) call you a liar, tell them: "For me my actions, for you yours. You are not answerable for my deeds, nor I for what you do."

41

وَمِنْھُمْ مَّنْ يَّسْتَمِعُوْنَ اِلَيْكَ۝۰ۭ اَفَاَنْتَ تُسْمِـــعُ الصُّمَّ وَلَوْ كَانُوْا لَا يَعْقِلُوْنَ۝۴۲
Waminhum man yastamiAAoona ilayka afaanta tusmiAAu alssumma walaw kanoo la yaAAqiloona

Ahmed Ali

Some of them listen to you: But can you make the deaf hear who do not understand a thing?

42

وَمِنْھُمْ مَّنْ يَّنْظُرُ اِلَيْكَ۝۰ۭ اَفَاَنْتَ تَہْدِي الْعُمْيَ وَلَوْ كَانُوْا لَا يُبْصِرُوْنَ۝۴۳
Waminhum man yanthuru ilayka afaanta tahdee alAAumya walaw kanoo la yubsiroona

Ahmed Ali

Some of them look toward you: But can you show the blind the way even when they cannot see?

43

اِنَّ اللہَ لَا يَظْلِمُ النَّاسَ شَيْـــًٔـا وَّلٰكِنَّ النَّاسَ اَنْفُسَھُمْ يَظْلِمُوْنَ۝۴۴
Inna Allaha la yathlimu alnnasa shayan walakinna alnnasa anfusahum yathlimoona

Ahmed Ali

Surely God does not wrong anyone; they wrong themselves.

44

وَيَوْمَ يَحْشُرُھُمْ كَاَنْ لَّمْ يَلْبَثُوْۗا اِلَّا سَاعَۃً مِّنَ النَّہَارِ يَتَعَارَفُوْنَ بَيْنَھُمْ۝۰ۭ قَدْ خَسِرَ الَّذِيْنَ كَذَّبُوْا بِلِقَاۗءِ اللہِ وَمَا كَانُوْا مُہْتَدِيْنَ۝۴۵
Wayawma yahshuruhum kaan lam yalbathoo illa saAAatan mina alnnahari yataAAarafoona baynahum qad khasira allatheena kaththaboo biliqai Allahi wama kanoo muhtadeena

Ahmed Ali

The day He will gather them together it will appear to them that they had lived (in the world) but an hour of a day to make each other's acquaintance. Verily those who deny the meeting with God will be lost, and not find the way.

45

وَاِمَّا نُرِيَنَّكَ بَعْضَ الَّذِيْ نَعِدُھُمْ اَوْ نَــتَوَفَّيَنَّكَ فَاِلَيْنَا مَرْجِعُھُمْ ثُمَّ اللہُ شَہِيْدٌ عَلٰي مَا يَفْعَلُوْنَ۝۴۶
Waimma nuriyannaka baAAda allathee naAAiduhum aw natawaffayannaka failayna marjiAAuhum thumma Allahu shaheedun AAala ma yafAAaloona

English

Ahmed Ali

Whether We show you some of the promise (of punishment in wait) for them, or take you to Ourself, their returning is to Us in the end; and God is a witness to all they do.

46

وَلِكُلِّ اُمَّۃٍ رَّسُوْلٌ۝۰ۚ فَاِذَا جَاۗءَ رَسُوْلُھُمْ قُضِيَ بَيْنَھُمْ بِالْقِسْطِ وَھُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُوْنَ۝۴۷
Walikulli ommatin rasoolun faitha jaa rasooluhum qudiya baynahum bialqisti wahum la yuthlamoona

English

Ahmed Ali

For every people there is an apostle; and when their apostle is come the matter is decided between them equitably, and no one is wronged.

47

وَيَقُوْلُوْنَ مَتٰى ہٰذَا الْوَعْدُ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صٰدِقِيْنَ۝۴۸
Wayaqooloona mata hatha alwaAAdu in kuntum sadiqeena

Ahmed Ali

They say: "When is this promise going to come, if what you say is true?"

48

قُلْ لَّاۗ اَمْلِكُ لِنَفْسِيْ ضَرًّا وَّلَا نَفْعًا اِلَّا مَا شَاۗءَ اؙ۝۰ۭ لِكُلِّ اُمَّۃٍ اَجَلٌ۝۰ۭ اِذَا جَاۗءَ اَجَلُھُمْ فَلَا يَسْتَاْخِرُوْنَ سَاعَۃً وَّلَا يَسْتَقْدِمُوْنَ۝۴۹
Qul la amliku linafsee darran wala nafAAan illa ma shaa Allahu likulli ommatin ajalun itha jaa ajaluhum fala yastakhiroona saAAatan wala yastaqdimoona

Ahmed Ali

Say: "I have no power over my own gain or loss other than what God may please." Every people have a certain term. When their time is come they can neither delay it an hour nor advance it a moment forward.

49

قُلْ اَرَءَيْتُمْ اِنْ اَتٰىكُمْ عَذَابُہٗ بَيَاتًا اَوْ نَہَارًا مَّاذَا يَسْتَعْجِلُ مِنْہُ الْمُجْرِمُوْنَ۝۵۰
Qul araaytum in atakum AAathabuhu bayatan aw naharan matha yastaAAjilu minhu almujrimoona

Ahmed Ali

Say: "Have you ever thought if His punishment befalls you at night or in the day, what would the sinners do to despatch it?
