Duas for morning and evening are a crucial part of a Muslim’s daily routine. A Dua is a way of worship to remember Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى and seek His mercy and guidance for the fulfillment of our needs. Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى has promised to listen and accept the Dua, as narrated in the 60th verse of Surah Ghafir: Your Lord said: “Pray to Me, and I will accept your prayers. Surely those who wax too proud to worship Me shall enter Hell, utterly abased.”
The significance of starting and ending the day with remembrance of Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى is also explained in the 25th verse of Surah Al-Insan:
وَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ بُكْرَۃً وَّاَصِيْلًا
Translation: and remember the name of your Lord, morning and evening;

The virtues of morning and evening duas are enormous. Starting the day with morning duas and ending with evening duas is liked by Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى. It is an act of a Muslim that brings peace of mind and heart for the entire day and keeps evils away from them.
In Verses 41and 42 of the Surah Al-Ahzab, Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى commands the believers to remember and praise Him so often, especially in the morning and evening. The verse is as follows:
Translation - Believers, remember Allah much - and glorify Him morning and evening.
Similarly, in the 205th verse of Surah Al-A’raf, Allah reminds the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ the importance of reaching out to Him and remembering Him in the morning and evening:
Translation - And remember [O Prophet] your Lord in your mind, with humility and fear, and without raising your voice; remember Him in the morning and evening, and do not become of those who are negligent.
The virtues of Duas are further evidenced in the 34th Hadith, as narrated in the 40 Hadith Qudsi.
Translation - On the authority of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: Allah the Almighty said:O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth, and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great as it. It was related by at-Tirmidhi (also by Ahmad ibn Hanbal). Its chain of authority is sound.
So, whatever may be the magnitude of our sins and wrongdoings, Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى is always ready to forgive us, as long as we continue to reach out to Him and remember Him through duas as explained in the above Hadith. Other benefits of reciting duas in the morning and evening are given below:
Dua has countless benefits and virtues, and one of the primary benefits is that it brings us closer to the Almighty Allah. The more you supplicate, the closer you get to Allah 186th verse of Surah Al-Baqarah narrates it as under:
Translation - And if My servants ask you, O Prophet, concerning Me, tell them that I am quite near to them. I hear and answer the prayer of the suppliant when he calls to Me. So, let them respond to My call and believe in Me. Convey this to them, O Prophet; perhaps they may be guided aright.
Morning and evening duas can bring about happiness, peace, tranquility, and serenity in our lives. It brings peace of mind and heart. Once you reach out to Allah with your request, it results in calmness and serenity with a feeling that you have requested and that your request will be accepted. 130th verse of Surah Ta-Ha narrates and explains it:
Translation - So bear patiently with what they say. Glorify your Lord, praising Him before sunrise and before sunset, and in the watches of the night, and glorify Him and at the ends of the day that you may attain to happiness.
