٢٧ - ٱلنَّمْل

27 - An-Naml

وَاِنَّكَ لَتُلَقَّى الْقُرْاٰنَ مِنْ لَّدُنْ حَكِيْمٍ عَلِيْمٍ۝۶
Wainnaka latulaqqa alqurana min ladun hakeemin AAaleemin

English

Ahmed Ali

You have been conveyed the Qur'an from One all-wise and all-knowing.

6

اِذْ قَالَ مُوْسٰي لِاَہْلِہٖۗ اِنِّىْۗ اٰنَسْتُ نَارًا۝۰ۭ سَاٰتِيْكُمْ مِّنْہَا بِخَــبَرٍ اَوْ اٰتِيْكُمْ بِشِہَابٍ قَبَسٍ لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَصْطَلُوْنَ۝۷
Ith qala moosa liahlihi innee anastu naran saateekum minha bikhabarin aw ateekum bishihabin qabasin laAAallakum tastaloona

English

Ahmed Ali

(Remember) when Moses said to his family: "I see a fire. I shall bring you news from it, or bring an ember that you may warm yourselves."

فَلَمَّا جَاۗءَہَا نُوْدِيَ اَنْۢ بُوْرِكَ مَنْ فِي النَّارِ وَمَنْ حَوْلَہَا۝۰ۭ وَسُبْحٰنَ اللہِ رَبِّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ۝۸
Falamma jaaha noodiya an boorika man fee alnnari waman hawlaha wasubhana Allahi rabbi alAAalameena

Ahmed Ali

But when he reached it, a voice called out: "Blessed is He who is in the fire and all around it. Praised be God, the Lord of all the worlds.

8

يٰمُوْسٰۗي اِنَّہٗۗ اَنَا اللہُ الْعَزِيْزُ الْحَكِيْمُ۝۹ۙ
Ya moosa innahu ana Allahu alAAazeezu alhakeemu

English

Ahmed Ali

O Moses, I am that God, the mighty and all-wise.

9

وَاَلْقِ عَصَاكَ۝۰ۭ فَلَمَّا رَاٰہَا تَہْتَزُّ كَاَنَّہَا جَاۗنٌّ وَّلّٰى مُدْبِرًا وَّلَمْ يُعَقِّبْ۝۰ۭ يٰمُوْسٰي لَا تَخَفْ۝۰ۣ اِنِّىْ لَا يَخَافُ لَدَيَّ الْمُرْسَلُوْنَ۝۱۰ۤۖ
Waalqi AAasaka falamma raaha tahtazzu kaannaha jannun walla mudbiran walam yuAAaqqib ya moosa la takhaf innee la yakhafu ladayya almursaloona

Ahmed Ali

Throw down your staff." When he saw it wriggling like a serpent he turned his back and fled without turning (to look). "O Moses," (said the voice), "be not fearful. Surely those sent as messengers do not fear in My presence,

اِلَّا مَنْ ظَلَمَ ثُمَّ بَدَّلَ حُسْـنًۢا بَعْدَ سُوْۗءٍ فَاِنِّىْ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ۝۱۱
Illa man thalama thumma baddala husnan baAAda sooin fainnee ghafoorun raheemun

English

Ahmed Ali

Except those who do some wrong but afterwards do good to make up for the wrong. And I am forgiving and merciful.

11

وَاَدْخِلْ يَدَكَ فِيْ جَيْبِكَ تَخْرُجْ بَيْضَاۗءَ مِنْ غَيْرِ سُوْۗءٍ۝۰ۣ فِيْ تِسْعِ اٰيٰتٍ اِلٰى فِرْعَوْنَ وَقَوْمِہٖ۝۰ۭ اِنَّہُمْ كَانُوْا قَوْمًا فٰسِقِيْنَ۝۱۲
Waadkhil yadaka fee jaybika takhruj baydaa min ghayri sooin fee tisAAi ayatin ila firAAawna waqawmihi innahum kanoo qawman fasiqeena

English

Ahmed Ali

Put your hand in the bosom of your shirt; it will come out white without any blemish. This will be one of nine tokens for the Pharaoh and his people, who are a wicked lot indeed."

12

فَلَمَّا جَاۗءَتْہُمْ اٰيٰتُنَا مُبْصِرَۃً قَالُوْا ھٰذَا سِحْرٌ مُّبِيْنٌ۝۱۳ۚ
Falamma jaathum ayatuna mubsiratan qaloo hatha sihrun mubeenun

Ahmed Ali

And when Our signs came as distinct proofs, they said: "This is only magic."

13

وَجَحَدُوْا بِہَا وَاسْتَيْقَنَتْہَاۗ اَنْفُسُہُمْ ظُلْمًا وَّعُلُوًّا۝۰ۭ فَانْظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَۃُ الْمُفْسِدِيْنَ۝۱۴ۧ
Wajahadoo biha waistayqanatha anfusuhum thulman waAAuluwwan faonthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu almufsideena

Ahmed Ali

And they denied them out of malice and pride, though in their hearts they believed that they were true. So see how was the end of evil-doers!

14

وَلَقَدْ اٰتَيْنَا دَاوٗدَ وَ سُلَيْمٰنَ عِلْمًا۝۰ۚ وَقَالَا الْحَمْدُ لِلہِ الَّذِيْ فَضَّلَنَا عَلٰي كَثِيْرٍ مِّنْ عِبَادِہِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ۝۱۵
Walaqad atayna dawooda wasulaymana AAilman waqala alhamdu lillahi allathee faddalana AAala katheerin min AAibadihi almumineena

Ahmed Ali

We gave David and Solomon knowledge; and they said: "All praise be to God who has favoured us over many of His creatures who believe."
