٥٢ - ٱلطُّور

52 - At-Tour

فَذَكِّرْ فَمَاۗ اَنْتَ بِنِعْمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاہِنٍ وَّلَا مَجْنُوْنٍ۝۲۹ۭ
Fathakkir fama anta biniAAmati rabbika bikahin wala majnoonin

English

Ahmed Ali

Remind them, therefore, that by the grace of your Lord you are neither a soothsayer nor possessed.

29

اَمْ يَقُوْلُوْنَ شَاعِرٌ نَّتَرَبَّصُ بِہٖ رَيْبَ الْمَنُوْنِ۝۳۰
Am yaqooloona shaAAirun natarabbasu bihi rayba almanooni

Ahmed Ali

Do they say: "He is a poet for whom we expect an adverse turn of fortune?"

30

قُلْ تَرَبَّصُوْا فَاِنِّىْ مَعَكُمْ مِّنَ الْمُتَرَبِّصِيْنَ۝۳۱ۭ
Qul tarabbasoo fainnee maAAakum mina almutarabbiseena

Ahmed Ali

Tell them: "Keep on expecting, I am expecting with you."

31

اَمْ تَاْمُرُہُمْ اَحْلَامُہُمْ بِھٰذَاۗ اَمْ ہُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُوْنَ۝۳۲ۚ
Am tamuruhum ahlamuhum bihatha am hum qawmun taghoona

Does their reasoning prompt them to this, or they are a people rebellious?

32

اَمْ يَقُوْلُوْنَ تَـقَوَّلَہٗ۝۰ۚ بَلْ لَّا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ۝۳۳ۚ
Am yaqooloona taqawwalahu bal la yuminoona

Or do they say: "He has fabricated it?" In fact, they will never believe.

33

فَلْيَاْتُوْا بِحَدِيْثٍ مِّثْلِہٖۗ اِنْ كَانُوْا صٰدِقِيْنَ۝۳۴ۭ
Falyatoo bihadeethin mithlihi in kanoo sadiqeena

So let them bring a discourse like it, if they are truthful

34

اَمْ خُلِقُوْا مِنْ غَيْرِ شَيْءٍ اَمْ ہُمُ الْخٰلِقُوْنَ۝۳۵ۭ
Am khuliqoo min ghayri shayin am humu alkhaliqoona

Or were they created of themselves? Or are they the creators?

35

اَمْ خَلَقُوا السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ۝۰ۚ بَلْ لَّا يُوْقِنُوْنَ۝۳۶ۭ
Am khalaqoo alssamawati waalarda bal la yooqinoona

Ahmed Ali

Or have they created the heavens and the earth? In fact they are certain of nothing.

36

اَمْ عِنْدَہُمْ خَزَاۗىِٕنُ رَبِّكَ اَمْ ہُمُ الْمُصَۜيْطِرُوْنَ۝۳۷ۭ
Am AAindahum khazainu rabbika am humu almusaytiroona

Do they possess the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the treasurers?

37

اَمْ لَہُمْ سُلَّمٌ يَّسْتَمِعُوْنَ فِيْہِ۝۰ۚ فَلْيَاْتِ مُسْتَمِعُہُمْ بِسُلْطٰنٍ مُّبِيْنٍ۝۳۸ۭ
Am lahum sullamun yastamiAAoona feehi falyati mustamiAAuhum bisultanin mubeenin

Ahmed Ali

Or do they have a ladder (climbing which) they can hear (the secrets of heaven)? Let one who has heard then bring a clear proof.

38
