١١ - هُود

11 - Houd

وَقَالَ ارْكَبُوْا فِيْہَا بِسْمِ اللہِ مَجْؔــرٖىہَا وَمُرْسٰىہَا۝۰ۭ اِنَّ رَبِّيْ لَغَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ۝۴۱
Waqala irkaboo feeha bismi Allahi majraha wamursaha inna rabbee laghafoorun raheemun

English

Ahmed Ali

And (Noah) said: "Embark. In the name of God be its course and mooring. My Lord is surely forgiving and kind."

41

وَہِىَ تَجْرِيْ بِہِمْ فِيْ مَوْجٍ كَالْجِبَالِ۝۰ۣ وَنَادٰي نُوْحُۨ ابْنَہٗ وَكَانَ فِيْ مَعْزِلٍ يّٰبُنَيَّ ارْكَبْ مَّعَنَا وَلَا تَكُنْ مَّعَ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ۝۴۲
Wahiya tajree bihim fee mawjin kaaljibali wanada noohunu ibnahu wakana fee maAAzilin ya bunayya irkab maAAana wala takun maAAa alkafireena

Ahmed Ali

It sailed on waves like mountains (high), and Noah called to his son who was separated from him: "Embark with us, O my son, and be not one of those who do not believe."

42

قَالَ سَاٰوِيْۗ اِلٰي جَبَلٍ يَّعْصِمُنِيْ مِنَ الْمَاۗءِ۝۰ۭ قَالَ لَا عَاصِمَ الْيَوْمَ مِنْ اَمْرِ اللہِ اِلَّا مَنْ رَّحِمَ۝۰ۚ وَحَالَ بَيْنَہُمَا الْمَوْجُ فَكَانَ مِنَ الْمُغْرَقِيْنَ۝۴۳
Qala saawee ila jabalin yaAAsimunee mina almai qala la AAasima alyawma min amri Allahi illa man rahima wahala baynahuma almawju fakana mina almughraqeena

Ahmed Ali

"I shall go up a mountain," he said, "which will keep me from the water." "There is no getting away," said Noah, "from the decree of God today, except for those on whom be His mercy." And a wave came between them, and he was among those who were drowned.

43

وَقِيْلَ يٰۗاَرْضُ ابْلَعِيْ مَاۗءَكِ وَيٰسَمَاۗءُ اَقْلِـعِيْ وَغِيْضَ الْمَاۗءُ وَقُضِيَ الْاَمْرُ وَاسْـتَوَتْ عَلَي الْجُوْدِيِّ وَقِيْلَ بُعْدًا لِّلْقَوْمِ الظّٰلِــمِيْنَ۝۴۴
Waqeela ya ardu iblaAAee maaki waya samao aqliAAee wagheeda almao waqudiya alamru waistawat AAala aljoodiyyi waqeela buAAdan lilqawmi alththalimeena

Ahmed Ali

Then it was said: "O earth, swallow back your water; and, O sky, desist." And the water subsided, and the decree was accomplished. The ark came to rest on Judi (Mount Ararat), and it was said: "Away with the cursed people!"

44

وَنَادٰي نُوْحٌ رَّبَّہٗ فَقَالَ رَبِّ اِنَّ ابْنِيْ مِنْ اَہْلِيْ وَاِنَّ وَعْدَكَ الْحَقُّ وَاَنْتَ اَحْكَمُ الْحٰكِمِيْنَ۝۴۵
Wanada noohun rabbahu faqala rabbi inna ibnee min ahlee wainna waAAdaka alhaqqu waanta ahkamu alhakimeena

English

Ahmed Ali

Noah called on his Lord and said: "O Lord, my son is surely a member of my family, and verily Your promise is true, as You are the most just of all judges."

45

قَالَ يٰنُوْحُ اِنَّہٗ لَيْسَ مِنْ اَہْلِكَ۝۰ۚ اِنَّہٗ عَمَلٌ غَيْرُ صَالِحٍ۝۰ۡۤۖ فَلَا تَسْـــَٔـلْنِ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِہٖ عِلْمٌ۝۰ۭ اِنِّىْۗ اَعِظُكَ اَنْ تَكُوْنَ مِنَ الْجٰہِلِيْنَ۝۴۶
Qala ya noohu innahu laysa min ahlika innahu AAamalun ghayru salihin fala tasalni ma laysa laka bihi AAilmun innee aAAithuka an takoona mina aljahileena

Ahmed Ali

"O Noah", He answered, "truly he is not of your family. He is surely the outcome of an unrighteous act. So ask Me not of what you do not know. I warn you not to be one of the ignorant."

46

قَالَ رَبِّ اِنِّىْۗ اَعُوْذُ بِكَ اَنْ اَسْـــَٔـلَكَ مَا لَيْسَ لِيْ بِہٖ عِلْمٌ۝۰ۭ وَاِلَّا تَغْفِرْ لِيْ وَتَرْحَمْنِيْۗ اَكُنْ مِّنَ الْخٰسِرِيْنَ۝۴۷
Qala rabbi innee aAAoothu bika an asalaka ma laysa lee bihi AAilmun wailla taghfir lee watarhamnee akun mina alkhasireena

Ahmed Ali

"Preserve me, O Lord," said (Noah), "from asking You that of which I have no knowledge. If You do not forgive me and have mercy on me I shall be among those who perish."

47

قِيْلَ يٰنُوْحُ اہْبِطْ بِسَلٰمٍ مِّنَّا وَبَرَكٰتٍ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلٰۗي اُمَمٍ مِّمَّنْ مَّعَكَ۝۰ۭ وَاُمَمٌ سَنُمَتِّعُہُمْ ثُمَّ يَمَسُّہُمْ مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ اَلِيْمٌ۝۴۸
Qeela ya noohu ihbit bisalamin minna wabarakatin AAalayka waAAala omamin mimman maAAaka waomamun sanumattiAAuhum thumma yamassuhum minna AAathabun aleemun

English

Ahmed Ali

(And the Lord) said: "O Noah, disembark with peace and safety from Us and blessings on you and the people with you. As for some (of them), We shall bestow advantages for a time, then send a grievous punishment on them."

48

تِلْكَ مِنْ اَنْۢبَاۗءِ الْغَيْبِ نُوْحِيْہَاۗ اِلَيْكَ۝۰ۚ مَا كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُہَاۗ اَنْتَ وَلَا قَوْمُكَ مِنْ قَبْلِ ھٰذَا۝۰ۭۛ فَاصْبِرْ۝۰ۭۛ اِنَّ الْعَاقِبَۃَ لِلْمُتَّقِيْنَ۝۴۹ۧ
Tilka min anbai alghaybi nooheeha ilayka ma kunta taAAlamuha anta wala qawmuka min qabli hatha faisbir inna alAAaqibata lilmuttaqeena

This is news of the Unknown We reveal to you, which neither you nor your people knew before. So endure with patience. The future is for those who keep away from evil and follow the straight path.

49

وَاِلٰي عَادٍ اَخَاہُمْ ہُوْدًا۝۰ۭ قَالَ يٰقَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللہَ مَا لَكُمْ مِّنْ اِلٰہٍ غَيْرُہٗ۝۰ۭ اِنْ اَنْتُمْ اِلَّا مُفْتَرُوْنَ۝۵۰
Waila AAadin akhahum hoodan qala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu in antum illa muftaroona

We sent to the people of 'Ad their brother Hud, who said: "O my people, worship God; you have no other god but He. (As for the idols,) you are only inventing lies.
